Product info

First came a calculator, then a remote control and now Casio have fashioned a watch with an MP3 player in it. And as far as we're concerned, the WMP-1V is one of the coolest gadgets they've ever made, without question. Combining G-Shock looks with the capacity for half an hour's worth of tuneful downloads is a masterstroke.

All the wires and software you need come in the box as, of course, does one fat watch. The headphone socket is removable, if you just want to use the watch to tell the time. The digital must-have, a stopwatch, is also included so the time-honoured reaction test and breath holding can rightfully live on. But that's beside the point. It's very light for something so chunky (a fact helped by the Velcro strap), playback is simple and a scrolling, ticker-tape style display can tell you song titles and other info. Put simply, in the Smaller Than PlayStation2 category, this the one we're after. It's been all over the papers and mags for good reason. The gadget of the summer is upon us.

Unless you've got them, you'll need Winzip and RealPlayer.
