Headphones and Microphone included
Even if you don't know your Deep Dish from your Paul van Dyk, you'll still be able to make a complete Carl Cox out of yourself with the ingenious USB Mixing Kit. Brought to you by our USB-crazy friends at ION, this user-friendly DJ station allows you to mix MP3s, CDs, WMAs, WAVs and other music files straight from your computer. What would Gary Davies say!
Featuring a two channel mixer (plus line and phono inputs so you can hook it up to your turntable or stereo), this brilliant bit of kit will have you scratching and pitch-blending in no time. Simply load the software CD onto your PC and a couple of funky virtual turntables appear on screen. All you have to do is drag and drop your favourite songs onto the decks and get busy wiggling your crossfader.
No decks please - we're British
Easy to use software
Even total novices can have hours of fun whipping up some pioneering mixes. We just created an iPod mix combining Gnarls Barkley with The Osmonds. And we're not exactly experts; until recently we thought Armand van Helden was a WWF wrestler.
It might not have as many buttons and switches as some of the equipment you see Fatboy Slim hunched over, but the ION is rammed with features: a nifty tempo control lets you adjust the speed of your music without altering the pitch, so Basement Jaxx remixes won't end up with Mickey-Mouse-on-helium vocals.
There's also Automatic Beat Matching (for all you rhythm-free clutzes), a three band equaliser per channel, seamless sound looping, a microphone for adding your own vocals, volume boosts for each track and, of course, a pair of quality headphones.
Connect via USB
Even if you're not into DJ-ing or dance culture we guarantee you'll be hammered into dub-mission by the supremely entertaining USB Mixing Kit, as it so easy to use. Hey Mr DJ, put a record on!
