The iconic, exotic pineapple: controversial pizza topping, star of the upside-down cake, and now your new favourite tipple.
Back in the 1920s, they were all about the pineapple gin. It was (almost) as common as lager or a cheeky Vimto. Sadly it fell into obscurity some years after, but it was rescued from the past and revitalised to make you the best damn cocktails you’ve ever had.
Imagine: ripe, juicy whole pineapples gently lowered onto a flaming hot spit and sensually brushed with copious amounts of sticky Demerara sugar and wisps of cinnamon until caramelised to perfection. Combine the heavenly result with bold, botanical gin and you have an utterly glorious drink. Sweet, zesty, subtly toasty pineapple, sliced through by the waves of sharp citrus and earthy juniper berries you know and love.
It’s wonderful neat, but we particularly like it with a can of Ting.
