Guys. We need to talk about these cookies. We know we’ve described things as moreish before but these are on another planet. Let’s just say there’s a reason they’re called crack cookies...
Two reasons, in fact.
1. They’re made from a cracker. A reeeealllly tasty cracker.
2. They’re made with toffee. What’s that got to do with crack? Step into into the inner sanctum of toffee experts for a second. When you make toffee, it’s cooked to a temperature of 300 degrees. This stage is known as ‘the Hard Crack stage’, when the sweet buttery brown stuff cracks and cools into a delicious crunchy end product. (Your dad was right, you really do learn something new every day.)
But let’s be honest, that title is a blatant nod to the fact that they’re worryingly addictive. The combination of crispy salty cracker, handmade toffee and chocolate may take a few bites to get used to, but then you won’t be able to put the bag down. The people who made them describe it as ‘one of the best tastes known to mankind’ and, frankly, we can’t argue with that.
