Presso Coffee Maker
Espresso yourself in an instant

The cultivation of coffee began sometime in the fifteenth century and was produced in…hang on; all you busy coffee connoisseurs out there don't care about that. You just wanna drink the stuff.
Perhaps that's why coffee is currently enjoying such a huge upsurge in popularity. The average high street is crammed full of trendy Central Perk-style coffee shops, and the coffee cognoscenti are spoilt for choice when it comes to buying beans, granules and grounds. The problem is, in order to achieve that genuine café-vibe at home, you usually have to take out a mortgage on one of those ultra-complicated contraptions that requires a degree in geothermal energy just to switch on.
Of course you can always buy instant coffee, but it just doesn't taste the same. What's more, people of a certain age will forever associate the stuff with that bloke off The Avengers waving a fistful of beans at the camera in a highly suggestive manner.
Perhaps this is why the ingenious Presso has been causing such a sensation. This multi award-winning device is a manually operated espresso/latte maker that produces the pressure needed for making café quality coffee at home. And it really works!
Looking like an oversized version of a lever corkscrew, the stylish Presso is a beautifully engineered bit of kit that will grace any surface. All you have to do to create the perfect espresso is fill the steel filter with the coffee of your choice, attach it to the Presso via the authentic café-style chrome holder and pour boiling water into the heat proof cylinder on the top (holds up to 2 espresso cups).
Next you lift the lever arms into position and pull them down. This action forces the water through the coffee at high pressure to deliver a perfect café quality brew into your waiting cup.
The whole Presso process takes seconds. We really can't stress what a complete doddle it is. In fact, it's so practical and easy to use we predict the Presso could soon become as ubiquitous as the good old teapot. Grazie and arrivederci!

The annoyance of being woken from my holiday sleep by the postman was swiftly nullified when i saw the big firebox sticker on the box. 5 min later i was cradleing one of the finest, non shop bought, coffees i've ever had. In fact, stuff the coffee shops i'm staying home with my double shot americano and playing with this amazingly stylish machine.
BTW its well worth picking up some decent beans and a good coffee grinder (that grinds, not cuts!)Sam, Guildford - 25th January 2005
The Presso has character; thoughts of penguins and fat butlers raced through my mind as I unpacked and looked at it (him/her??).
Having successfully made and consumed my first espresso from The Presso, I can report it is an extremely solid piece of engineering, and superbly easy to use. I can see that I will be able to experiment with coffees, grinding fineness, pressure, and just tweaking the way I
use it - no doubt to produce the most perfect (no apologies for truism
or whatever "most perfect" is) espresso in the world!
I had been toying with getting one of those machines that work on
steam/pump pressure, but at £300'ish a go, plus maxed out credit cards, I was forced to rethink. At £30'ish I believe The Presso probably offers more style, fun, inventiveness, financial
guiltlessness and superber(?!?) espresso than the other machines
anyway. Plus I'll probably take it/him/her on holiday with me too! Many thanks for your prompt service and I suspect I'll be getting
other things from you in the future (once the credit card people up my
limit!).Chris Newbold, Wallington, Surrey - 5th January 2005
Had heard about the presso about 6 months ago but could not get one in China, Taiwan or the USA. My coffee loving friends in the UK got a Presso, told me how good it was and so I asked them to get one from Firebox for me.
My presso looks stylish and great in the kitchen and its the talking point of all my friends who see it. Its made of very strong alloy and must weigh 2.5 kgs. The finish is very smooth. The instructions have been very clear with some useful tips also to help with use. It took me a little while to perfect the way I like my espresso shot from the Presso, but now I can achieve a perfect coffee again and again. The fact that you can change the grind, how hard you can press them and adjust the water pressure make this machine such fun to use. Its so basic and looks so good its like a great Classic car!
I start the day with a latte and two shots of espresso form my Presso on top. I own 3 other Espresso machines (one cost more than US$ 1000) they all make a good coffee, but the Presso is much more fun to use. Charles Lee, Taiwan - 9th November 2004
