Instant Regret Peanut Butter

You’d have to be totally nuts

Sorry, this product is not available.

It’s with great pride (and no little terror) that we bring you the Instant Regret Peanut Butter, following on from recent Instant Regret favourites Vodka, Hot Sauce and Chocolate, this time even the peanuts are angry.

We’ve gone straight to the top and recruited the (relative) ruler of the chilli jungle, the King Naga chilli. We start by milking every last drop of capsaicin from the chillies, which we combine with the finest peanuts money can buy. Throw in a little oil, some seasoning, and a dash of Habanero chilli extract just for good measure. Then we butter it up.

This Firebox exclusive continues our reign of tasty terror, combining a classic spread with the heat of a thousand burning suns. Made using extract measuring an absolutely mental 12 million SHU on the Scoville Scale, it’s not your everyday spread.

Customer Reviews

I gave some for my Sri Lankan friend to try, who has grown up eating spicy food that i've tried and is mental hot, and he found it way to hot for him. Seeing him break down from something to spicy hot is just unfathomable. So everyone be warned haha.

Firebox says: Hey Darren, We wish you and your friends many more happy, spice-related breakdowns in future.
Well I love chillies, and I love peanut butter, so I imagined I'd love this. I'm no chilli wimp - I have Megadeath sauce (look it up, you'll like it) - in my fridge. But I have to say that although this peanut butter is really, really, REALLY hot the taste isn't great. It just tastes of chilli juice. All peanut flavour is entirely obscured. Personally, I didn't really like it. However my husband has mastered spreading a micrometre of this on bread followed by a thick layer of normal peanut butter. Not only does this taste much better, but the heat is then manageable (still best consumed with a glass of milk). Obviously the fun of this item is its mild-blowing hotness, but it's a bit of a shame the flavour's no good.

Well, he was warned. I told him about the reviews, he read them himself, and read the label on the jar - but he didn't believe it! He does now LOL Had the spread on toast, with cottage cheese and tomato, but still needed yoghurt to ease the pain, and several Tums later in the day! Maybe next time he'll believe what he's told! But apart from the mouth-burning/stomach burning effect - he did seem to like it! ;o).

May be one of the hottest things I have ever tasted. Brought tears to my eyes and just kept on burning. . Made sure everyone in the office tried a bit most couldn't believe how hot it was.

First Impressions: Looks like peanut butter, maybe a shade darker than I expected, smells exactly like peanut butter with no discernible spicy smell, just a smell of peanut butter. Spread a generous layer on toast - Instantly regretted my bravado, while the burn did not reach my eyes or bring my face to warmth, it did persist on my tongue and throat for at least 10 minutes and had to cool my tongue with milk to ease the pain. Considerably spicier than I expected, and certainly offensively hot. Taste: Still tastes like peanut butter however after 3 bites of toast the burn and spice were overpowering my senses to the degree I could scarcely taste.
