description

In terms of unusual snacks, the Brits aren’t exactly pushing boundaries, with the most daring delicacy being that 15 year old pickled onion or a bag of crisps. But the cultural cuisine crusaders at Firebox have been cooking up something special.

Chips are for chumps, and peanuts are for... people who like peanuts, but if you’re not eating a carefully detoxified and lightly toasted arachnid, it’s time you get with the program. Delicious and nutritious, these Toasted Scorpions are the intriguing alternative to your normal nibbles.

You don’t even need to brave the night markets of Beijing to get your fix of high protein creepy crawlies, as these have been farm raised and packaged ready for you.

Snap some up now.

Customer Reviews

Just a question are they real scorpions?? I might try these....... .
Lucy, Oxfordshire - 21st December 2013
Firebox says: Yes Lucy, these are real scorpions
Waste of money, the actual tin is tiny. I tried to arrange for the item to go back the same day I received them (still sealed with expiry date of Dec 2013) and was told I couldn't as it's classed as a perishable item. Perhaps if the photo on the website had something to show the scale of the time maybe I wouldn't have wasted my money in the first instance. So first and last time I'll buy from Firebox !
Stuart Smith, London - 22nd November 2012
Firebox says:
I really want to buy some but have you (the firebox team), eaten any? and can you post a video? :-).
Alexander, - 6th November 2012
Firebox says: Hey Alexander, a couple of brave souls in the office have indeed sampled these tasty Toasted Scorpions. Hopefully we will be able to put up a video in the near future of our bravery. But in the meantime we recommend you give em' a go for yourself!
Are all parts of the scorpion edible?
Jo, London - 6th November 2012
Firebox says: Hi Jo! We can confirm that the whole of the scorpion is edible. All you need is courage!
How many scorpions are included?
Ben Bailey, Kent - 24th October 2012
Firebox says: Hey Ben, you get 5 scorpions and they are delish!
Is there still any venom inside the scorpions?
Ben Bailey, Kent - 23rd October 2012
Firebox says: Hi Ben, I can definitely say these scorpions are NOT poisonous don't worry!
