Widely considered to be the result of highly advanced Gallifreyan technological experiments, the Sonic Screwdriver is an indispensable tool for any travelling Time Lord. But whether you’re an original member of the Prydonian Chapter, or simply a massive fan of the popular TV series, it’s been impossible to get your hands on the Mark VII. Until now.

Immaculately designed and packed full of features, this die cast metal model is hand detailed, with polished copper plating and an authentic soft touch grip. Painstakingly built to last; with a little bit of care and occasionally replaced batteries you’ll be able to use this Sonic Screwdriver up to your 13th incarnation (and beyond?).

Some basic Screwdriver controls:
left to right

Swipe the Screwdriver left or right

tap

Tap various points of the Screwdriver

rotate

Rotate clockwise or anti-clockwise

Button close-up

Switch modes with the power button

But it’s not just a spectacularly detailed collectable replica, oh no; the Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver is also a fully programmable, gesture based Universal Remote Control! Utilising infrared technology to control everything from TV’s and DVD players to stereos and iPod docks, you’ll be able to make changes with just a flick of the wrist.

With the blessings of the BBC, the Sonic Screwdriver boasts 13 authentic special FX sounds from the Whoniverse and comes in a gorgeous presentation case. Including detailed instructions straight from the Doctor himself, you’ll be able to get started learning how to use it straight away.

With 4 Operational Modes, you can practice and program your gestures; use it as a full blown replica, or control your Earthly devices in either full FX mode or Quiet Control mode. Plus, just like the Doctor, you don’t want it falling into the wrong hands so when not in use you can lock the Sonic Screwdriver using your personal authorisation code.

Hey I have been wondering if you use it at a cash machine will it bring out any cash because in series 10 The Doctor uses it on a cash machine and money came flying out of the cash machine.

Firebox says: Sadly this cannot be used on Cash Machines, or wood.
Bought this for my brother as a late Christmas present and he said - '... the sonic screwdriver is excellent thanks. Works brilliantly and a really nicely made bit of kit. ' And he's not an easy man to please!

Excellent delivery time, ordered late sunday night got it delivered Tuesday and I didn't even have the super duper express delivery. The Remote is brilliant, feels heavy and well built, the controls takes a little getting used to. Try not to be too heavy handed cos it is rather sensitive but with practise its great. Oh and yes I have used it to watch my Dr Who dvds. The price on Firebox was much lower than anywhere else ive seen. Would defo recommend.

Bargain!! Never intended this to actually replace my original freeview+ remote but I have been very surprised, a little practice and experimentation with which function for which gesture and it's working well. Tap function's a little finnicky, as mentioned by Mike, below, but otherwise brilliant and solidly built. I've programmed menu functions into one bank and playback in another, and using the rotation to control up and down menu scrolling has effectively turned the sonic into a jog dial improving on the original remote! Outstanding.

I've been tempting myself to buy this for quite awhile and seeing the reduced price tag that clinched the deal and I bought this as a Christmas present to myself. The screwdriver has a nice weighted feel and for the most part the gestures easy to learn though i'm finding the tap gestures a little fiddly, too hard and it thinks you're moving left or right, too soft and you get no reaction - I'm sure that's just down to practice. Overall I couldn't be happier with my purchase, or the speed with which it was delivered. Thanks Firebox. Com.

What a fantastic piece of kit this is, well made, looks great and with a bit of practice fairly easy to use. Buy one and unleash your inner time lord!
