Musicians are very cool. Musicians smoke. They also use equipment called amps. These three undeniable truths of rock have been fused together by a former custom amp designer at guitar legends Fender in the form of the very cool Smokey Amp. It's a high-performing amp - for its size - housed in a used cigarette pack. A perfect box, mind you, no phone numbers or torn corners. 
A lifetime's appreciation of surgically enhanced models may or may not have induced the makers to inject silicone into the boxes as reinforcement, but it works great. One square battery will give you about ten hours of playing time, and there's a 0.5w output from the built-in speaker. Of course, you're not going to play Madison Square Garden with one, but a Marshall stack doesn't fit in your pocket, does it?
A triumph of recycling and lo-fi design, several top bands have used the Smokey. Because it's pure genius. Turn the volume way up and it's a makeshift fuzzbox. But one crucial question remains. Who smoked all the cigs? 
Made from lovingly recycled cigarette packets, Smokey Amps come in a variety of brands. Although they are not affiliated with, sponsored or authorized by any cigarette company, unlike their previous contents, these packs will not cause cancer, emphysema, or lower the birth rate.

I got my Smokey a couple of months back and I have to say that it is a very impressive piece of kit! £25, and I use it almost as much as my £600 amp, it's sound quality is good and goes anywhere between light bluesy distortion to something a whole lot more rocky depending on guitar. Defo recommend...

Well, I’ve had this little piece of genius for two weeks now and I literally cannot put the damn thing down, basically because it's brilliant and I found that it works even if you only have an acoustic guitar. Just buy an acoustic pick up plug and strum away like you’ve never strummed before. It's small, powerful (and that’s an understatement) and damn sweet. 10/10 - a must buy for anyone with a guitar.

Well, I got it out of the box and then I got the shock of my life. Plugged in my guitar and WOW - what a sound from a fag packet. Who would have guessed, great for practice anywhere! Beginner or pro, you want one of these!! | |||||||||||||

I am a player of 20-plus-years and a teacher of 10 years - I have heard and used many amps - but I must say I was amazed at what the Smokey Amp will do. Gritty grunge or dirty blues, both are available, and from such a little box! Great for practice. I have also hooked the smokey up to a 4x12 cabinet and it will actually drive the speakers, and at a stage-mikable volume! Neat-o. | |||||||||||||
Bloody hell, this thing is loud! Plugged the little blighter in after spending a few minutes looking for the volume control (duh! - it doesn't have one!) and started annoying the neighbours almost immediately! Carried it around with me all day to impress people and I'm still having fun with it at home :o) Plugged this into my housemate's big hi-fi speaker and it sounded even better!!
