Caran D'Ache 1010 Diamonds Pen

Oscillating weight balances the pen beautifully while you write with it

The Magna Carta, the Declaration of Independence, Peter Andre’s recording contract – all documents of immense importance. And yet they were all signed with pens that didn’t really match the occasion. Probably. So next time you write something important (list of football clubs to buy, Ferrari dealership’s number), make sure you do it with the Caran D’Ache 1010 Diamonds.

Billed as the world’s most expensive pen, this jaw-droppingly OTT writing instrument will set you back a cool €1,000,000 – but what’s a whopping great pile of money amongst pens? Pull this baby out on your yacht and colleagues won’t know whether to gawp in awe or grab it and scarper.

Conceived as a tribute to the precision timepiece, one of Switzerland’s finest exports, the limited edition Caran D’Ache is crafted in white gold with more than 850 exceptionally pure diamonds, in three styles of cut, totalling approximately 24.61 carats. Even the delicately engraved nib is hand made in rhodium plated 18-carat gold, while the cap and exterior cage are inspired by various wristwatch parts.

Caran D'Ache 1010 Diamonds Pen

872 diamonds totalling 24.61 carats! This pen is for writing big money cheques.

Caran D'Ache 1010 Diamonds Pen

All the diamonds are set by hand

By uniting the expertise of leading jewellers, goldsmiths and master craftsmen of Caran d’Ache, the Geneva Maison de Haute Ecriture (of course we’ve heard of them), this ludicrously luxe pen is destined to increase in value and become a much sought after item – so don’t go lending it to the bloke next to you or you might not get it back. Then again if you can afford this you probably don’t sit next to anyone, do you?

Needless to say, the only downside here is the price. But if you’re into your bling and you know how to write with a fountain pen (we haven’t an inkling – boom boom) this is most definitely the pen for you. Every Premiership club, oligarch, world leader and Liberace fan should have one. Write on!

visitor avatar I think I will stick to my Bic (other pens are avaiable).

visitor avatar 'Firebox says: I've heard those pyramid schemes are good money makers too!' LOL I own pure physical Au and Ag with full title and will do very nicely after the newly announced 1:1 Ag exchange is up-to-speed and named. If you want Ponzi schemes, I read that SLV and AAPL are popular. Good luck selling these pens :P.

visitor avatar I'm not impressed, IMHO more money than sense and blind vanity buys this pretty obscenely expensive Billionaire tat; even if I had the extra cash to buy this, I'd rather Zero Hedge the spare cash to growing my Au and Ag Bullion stash faster; I bet my bling keeps its value better and buy more when we finally see 'blood-in-the-streets'!

visitor avatar That's all well and good but I know a place that will sell you a gel pen that smells like Watermelon !! For less than half that price (much less than half in fact).
