In our merry travels around the globe we come across an awful lot of unnecessary bumpf. The kind of barmy gadget ideas that should never have made it out of the pub where they were first thought up, let alone allowed see the light of day. But occasionally we find something of this ilk that is so absolutely bonkers that you have to smile. And then buy one. And find it positively delightful to play with.
It’s for this reason that we bring to your discerning eye the Self Stirring Mug. It’s brilliant! No, we don’t know why, but watching it swizz your morning brew into a hot swirling vortex at the touch of a button is guaranteed to cheer you up. Better yet, make an instant soup and watch in glee as your dehydrated croutons run laps around the rim. Ah, it’s the little things in life...
So how does it work? Well, a tiny battery-powered impeller at the bottom of the cup spins rapidly to swirl the liquid around the bottom of the cup. Press the button on the handle and watch as your hot beverage slowly starts to spin, until it’s a veritable steaming whirlpool.
Pitched as the ultimate gift for the lazy tea-drinker in your life, what tickles us is that you’ll still need a teaspoon for adding coffee, or removing the teabag. Which you’ll still need to wash up. So it’s no more time-saving than using a regular mug and giving it a stir. And that’s why we love it!
So raise your hot goblets and give them a swizz for the sheer good fun of it. And don’t even get us started on dunking biscuits. Pop the kettle on, we’ll get the Hobnobs...
Press the button on the handle and cup will stir itself!
A great gadget for the ultimate cup of lazy tea! One thing I would say for anyone who buys this (especially if you have a sweet tooth and take sugar) is that after each use put some boiling water in the bottom to dissolve any sugar residue other wise the little spinning stirrer sticks during future use!
