Once Austria’s strongest beer, Samichlaus (or Santa Claus Beer) has made quite a name for itself. Oh alright, it’s 14% if you must know. But it’s not just the chestnut-warming ABV that has marked this beer as special. Because Samichlaus is traditionally brewed on just one day of the year – the 6th December. No, we have no idea why. But as you can imagine, this makes it a somewhat sought-after beverage.

Allowed to age for ten months, the resulting frothy stuff is usually bottled in respectable 33cl measures. However, never one to do things by halves, we’ve found Samichlaus 3 Litre Christmas Beer. Enjoy this magnificent jeroboam of golden beer with hardy robust dishes and desserts. Oh yes and friends. Lots and lots of friends.
