Gummi bear sweets are small, squidgy and delicious. But eat too many and you’ll end up in a giggly jittery heap. So imagine our involuntary spasms of joy when we discovered Gummy Lamps. These delectable chaps stand a full 17cm tall and feel just as rubbery as their miniature counterparts. But don’t be fooled. These are actually cleverly-designed LED lanterns.
Just give their tummies a squeeze and they’ll light up, the LEDs in their base casting a glow through the brightly coloured silicone. They’re not great to read by, but they make great ambient room lights propped on shelves, on bedside tables or mounted on the wall. Each one has a hole in the back for hanging on a nail or picture hook.
In fact, you could pop them anywhere you like. Battery-powered, they’ll glow for around 20 hours on a single charge. Or simply plug them into the mains with the included cable. Gummy Lamps are a great way to show your love for this classic retro sweetie, and they’re certainly better for your teeth.
