Close up of iPod dock

Wall-shaped dock

You’d think those dastardly piggies would have learned by now – Angry Birds really, really want their eggs back. But heck, if lobbing yourself at the greedy porkers’ fortress isn’t getting the message across, why not try blasting them with sound instead?

The Angry Birds Speaker plugs into any mobile or MP3 player with a headphone socket (so these days that’s all of them). And with 3 built-in speakers, including a subwoofer, it packs as much furious wallop as its digital counterpart.

What’s more iPad, iPhone or iPod owners can rest their gadgets in the included wall-shaped dock. Let’s just hope it’ll hold up under your powerful sounds. Ready... aim... Phil Collins! Or, you know, whatever music you like.

visitor avatar Firstly, just going to clear up some points: -You can NOT charge your iPod from this, the only output is a 3. 5mm headphone jack. -The 'Wall Dock' is JUST a piece of plastic. -Includes UK, USA & EU plugs. Fantastic speaker for the price, can control volume & bass on the back. There is a rubber plate on the bottom of the speaker to keep it stable, although it has a fair amount of weight to keep itself stable. The device has very good build quality, all the exterior parts such as the novelty beak, eyes etc are all very well installed. I'm sure - as with all speakers - audio fanatics will be disappointed, but this will suit most other people. I'd recommend this to anybody looking for a good value-for-quality speaker, its fantastic looks give it one step ahead of most iPod docks.
Joel Kelly, Lancashire, UK - 28th December 2011
visitor avatar Hi, this speaker certainly looks the part. However, on various sites there is a contradiction to whether it charges iPods. I was wondering if you can clear this up? I have the 180gb iPod Classic, will this charge it? And how does it charge? Does it sit in the wall dock? Thank you.
Jamie, Scotland - 27th December 2011
Firebox says: Hi Jamie, unfortunately this does not charge iPods.
visitor avatar My son loves it! It's sturdy and seems well made and I love it because even on the maximum volume setting it's not going to have the neighbours hammering on the walls. As far as the charging thing goes, it doesn't!! It only has a headphone cable, so definately no way to charge anything. Perhaps what the description means is that you could also charge your ipod while it sits in the the little wall, but trust me, there's no connections for anything there, it's just a piece of plastic!! Naughty Firebox for not getting one out and and looking at it!! Nope, it's not going to charge ANYTHING!!
Julie, Corby - 26th December 2011
Firebox says: Hi Julie, firstly we're glad to hear that your son loves it! Secondly, we have now taken down anything suggesting this charges - sorry, that was an error on our part!
visitor avatar Does the dock work with an HTC HD7?
Adam Moore, Dungannon - 24th December 2011
Firebox says: Hi Adam, This will not work with a HTC as it only has the standard iPhone and iPod dock on it! Sorry
visitor avatar Does this have a remote and can I connect a headphone on it (like listening quietly). Also, my phone is htc desire hd, would this work? thank you!
Loubel, London - 17th November 2011
Firebox says: Hi Loubel, this doesn't have a remote. It doesn't headphone connection but it connects to music players via a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, so if you wanted to listen quietly you could plug your headphones directly into your phone. It will work with an HTC Desire HD.
visitor avatar Can I plug the speaker into the headphone socket on my laptop?
Val Coleman, East Sussex - 14th November 2011
Firebox says: Hi Val, it certainly will if your laptop usually works with 3.5mm jacks.
visitor avatar Does the red angry bird charge the iPod touch as from what I have seen in the shops, the brick stand with this bird does not include a charging connector so how can it charge the iPod? Problem I have is my godson only knows the red bird really.
Stewart Mardle, Croydon - 10th November 2011
Firebox says: Hi Stewart, the speaker comes with a wall-shaped dock that can charge the iPod. The wall has a mains connection, this just doesn't come out in the pictures.
visitor avatar Does it charge the iphone 4?
Alfie Jenkins, - 1st November 2011
Firebox says: Sure thing! It charges iPhones, iPods and even the iPad!
visitor avatar Hi, How is this powered? Is it rechargeable or do u need disposable batteries?
Gill, Guernsey - 1st October 2011
Firebox says: Hey Gill! The Angry Birds Speaker is mains powered by both EU & UK adaptors.
visitor avatar Does the dock fit an iPad 1???
Jamie, Huddersfield - 25th September 2011
Firebox says: It certainly does Jamie.
