Holding the Air Swimmer

Rob with todays catch!

What’s that in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It’s... a fish? Don’t worry; your eyes aren’t playing tricks. The radio controlled Air Swimmers Clown Fish really does appear to be swimming impossibly through the air. This ingenious balloon is propelled by its sideways-moving tail.

Unlike typical helium balloons (which only want to go up) the Air Swimmer is filled helium – ensuring it simply hangs in the air. You can then use the radio control to make it swim. Up, down, left and right; with a bit of practice you’ll make your living room look like a giant fish tank!

In fact, its movement is so graceful and gentle that you can easily use the Air Swimmers Clown Fish in enclosed spaces where twitchy RC helicopters and planes would struggle.

Customer Reviews

How much Helium does it need to inflate?
Robert Collyer, United Kingdom - 9th December 2012
Firebox says: 4.5 Cubic feet Robert, the rest you can use to make silly high pitched voices with* *Firebox does not condone this
I bought this as a family toy (for the kids but we were intrigued!). It was great fun, manoeuvring it through the house, up and down stairs! Easy to control and great fun!
Fifi Trixi, Wirral - 28th November 2012
I originally brought the shrk for my kids, but they were so amazed that I also had to buy the clownfish aswell! Easy to control, hours of fun, what more can I say!
Helen, UK - 21st November 2012
Does it always stay blown up how does this work no wings? no propellers? can it pop after crashing?
Julian, FERRYHILL, County Durham - 18th October 2012
Firebox says: Hey Julian! I can assure you that once blown up fully the Air Swimmers Clown Fish will stay inflated up for several weeks. The balloon is propelled by its sideways moving tail which captures the movement (rather realistically we think!) of a real fish. It is safe to fly inside, and as long as you steer clear of sharp objects (sword fish stay away!) then it should be fine. Remember practise makes perfect!
Does it come inflated? (I guess not) but still, please tell how I can inflate it? (do I have to find a shop with helium or buy a helium tank or what?).
Felix, Haywards Heath - 19th September 2011
Firebox says: It doesn't come inflated Felix, so yep, a helium tank or store that can provide that service is what you'll need.
Hi firebox they look awesome and I have seen something like them on TV! Two questions, One: Can you use then outside and, Two: Can you refill them once the helium is gone?
Nick Thomas, United Kingdom - 6th September 2011
Firebox says: Whilst you can use it outside, we wouldn't advise it - it wouldn't take to well to wind and the elements. You can refill it once the helium has gone.
