Never mind carrying around boxes of vinyl from gig to gig. These days all you need is an iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad; and Numark iDJ Live. Looking like a set of professional decks, this high-quality setup works with iOS Core MIDI DJ software to let you browse, cue, scratch and mix tracks together. Compact and portable, it’s perfect for beginners and Grandmasters alike.

Controls

Mix your music live, record tracks on the move, or engage Automix while you nip to the bar. This simple system is a doddle to pick up and looks spectacular. The two large performance platters give the tactile feedback you need for accurate scratching effects; while the central mixer section allows you to crossfade tracks (and various other technical things). Just load your tracks to decks A or B on your Apple gadget’s screen and use iDJ Live to mix them.

I would like to know if this will work with the new I pad 3 ??

So does this work with the IPHONE 4s? as one of your comments says it does and another says it is only compatible with IPads? Please advise as this will be a gift to someone. Thanks.

You say that this is only compatible with iPads yet Apple describe it on their own store as a 'DJ software controller for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch'. Who am I supposed to believe!!

Firebox says: Hey Alex, I have just heard back from the supplier and they can confirm that the controller is compatible with all the Apple products mentioned. You can download different versions of the IDJ App from the App store according to what hardware you want to use.

Does this work with old ipod or just new touchsreen ones?

Firebox says: Hi Sean, our suppliers say that it will work with any music files saved on the iPad, but it won't work with Spotify in streaming mode. I hope this helps!

Can you adjust the pitch with this piece of kit?

Firebox says: Hi Ian, We've contacted the suppliers and unfortunately pitch bend functionality is not working on this product as it should at the moment due to a software issue. However we've been told that this will be addressed via a free update which will be made available through the App store to all users as soon as it is complete. Hope this helps!
