When you’re drooling-goon-addicted to retro videogames (and who isn’t?) the compulsion to gawp at vintage controllers is overpowering. So much so, we’ve teamed up with the design gurus at Joseph Joseph to create the Gamepad Chopping Board adorned with an iconic joypad design from the halcyon days of gaming.

Made from toughened glass with non-slip rubber feet, this funky kitchen essential provides a hygienic, odour and stain-resistant work surface for all types of food preparation (even comedy cartoon mushrooms). And as well as that iconic joypad layout it features a stylish chopped carrot logo and ‘slice’ and ‘dice’ references instead of ‘select’ and ‘start’.

Yes, we realise chopping onions and slicing tomatoes has got little to do with blasting aliens and jumping across platforms dressed as a plumber in order to rescue blocky, badly rendered princesses, but you won’t care about that when you’re reminiscing about your TV-based adventures circa ’89. Great for the geek appeal, can't really say much about a chopping board, would reccomend but it doesnt like to be immersed in water, the back is starting to peel off on one side, word of advice, just wipe it down and dont try to fit it in the skink like I kept doing! I think I may have been over enthusiastic about keeping it clean haha!

Flipping love this! looks great in the kitchen goes nicely along side my rubiks cube salt and pepper shakers! Definitely will be looking out for more retro/geeky kitchenware... some bowls for serving crisps in etc would be awesome! Coxy.

Happy with the board itself, but the 'grippy feet' underneath aren't very well stuck on at all. Two have already come off and I've only used it a few times. Very annoying.

Finally got a non broken one. Looks really good and retro like the old NES control pad. Box was still battered and crushed but it managed to survive express delivery. All good in the end but sort out the packaging guys!!!!

Have to give this a zero. The item arrived completely shattered in a crushed box. The packaging was really poor for such a fragile item. I can't blame the courier because nowhere on the box does it say fragile. Hoping to get another one that isn't in a million pieces of sharp broken glass :(.
