The point is, the lightsaber is hands down the greatest pretend weapon in the entire sci-fi universe. These iconic red-hot rapiers are to weaponry what Darth Maul is to face paint. And there isn't a Star Wars fan alive who hasn't fantasised about wielding one in all its glowing, pshwooing, vhzzhhing, wuhmming glory. And now, thanks to your Jedi-loving friends here on Fireboxooine, you can get your mitts around the most jaw-droppingly realistic replica in the galaxy.

The gorgeously crafted Star Wars Darth Maul Force FX Lightsaber really is an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. Sure, it may only be half of Maul’s double-ended movie weapon, but you can combine it with the Darth Maul Battle Damaged Force FX Lightsaber (sold separately) to make up the complete thing. Fully licensed by Lucasfilm, the limited edition Force FX is fashioned in gleaming metal with a durable polycarbonate blade, and it feels like a real lightsaber the par-sec you pick it up.

But here comes the good bit: once activated, the blade glows brightly and the Force FX reverberates with digitally recorded sound effects taken directly from the film, including power-up, idle-hum, swing, clash and power-down. The spine-tingling sounds are activated via five super-sensitive motion sensors, three of which are in the blade to detect movement and impact.

The eye-popping light effects are produced by a string of 64 super-bright LEDs that ignite sequentially inside the permanently attached blade. The Force FX even comes with a handsome stand for tabletop or wall display. If this doesn't excite your inner Jedi, nothing will!
