Don't just take our word for it - the record-breaking Fuji Slim Shot is actually now in the Guinness Book of World Records as the "World's Slimmest Digital Camera". If it's good enough for Norris McWhirter then it's definitely good enough for us.

This 6mm thin, credit card sized camera with its metallic silver shell is compact, sleek and remarkably affordable.

As well as being slim enough to take anywhere, any time, the Fuji SlimShot's controls are simple and easy to master. After framing with the optical viewfinder simply point and click, making taking pictures easy, convenient and fun.

The Fuji SlimShot’s internal long-life, ultra-thin rechargeable lithium polymer battery and unique power saving technologies enable the camera to capture 600 – 1,000 pictures between each recharge. The battery recharges via the USB cable whilst downloading images, removing the need for a separate AC adapter, charger or external batteries. The good news is that even if you run out of juice you won't lose your photos - the Fuji SlimShot will store your snaps safely in its flash memory until you're able to download them.

The Fuji SlimShot delivers a 640 x 480 pixel image – ideal for sending images via email or posting on the web –and boasts an internal memory of 8MB, enough to hold approximately 26 VGA or 104 QVGA images.

The Fuji SlimShot's unique automatic brightness adaptive technology, Autobrite™ ensures that bright regions of a scene never saturate, while dimmer details always remain crisp and clear, even in difficult scenes such as those involving back lighting. The end result: perfect pictures, every time, regardless of the shooting conditions.

press review "It's the James Bond in us - well, the blokes anyway - but these credit-card-sized cameras were the most fun of any we've received recently. Slipping in a shirt pocket, they product Web-quality images with a basic point-and-shoot action. As for quality, at this size that's hardly a concern, but the Fuji wins again with its low-light capability."

Visitor Reviews...

visitor avatar Got this wee bundle of joy just the other day, and im constantly looking for excuses to use it. Fair enough the camera doesn't like dark conditions, but hey in the light it's magic. Best of all is watching your mates think it's really expensive and being afraid to drop it!! I carry my one with me all the time.

visitor avatar I didn't buy my camera through Firebox, but it was probably the main site that swayed my decision to buy. The users' reviews and sample photos really made a difference for me. As for my experiences, the camera is literally credit-card size, weighs nothing, takes good snaps and is zero maintenance (batteries, cards etc.) The low-light snaps are a bit hit-and-miss, so I wouldn't advise you buy this camera if you're intending to use it to take piccies on nights out. Use it for what it's best at - keeping permanently in your pocket and taking photos that you intend to post on web sites or send via email. A great camera - I have two "proper" digital cameras, but it's the sheer convenience of being able to take this one *everywhere* that makes it stand out from the rest.

visitor avatar Got the Slimshot about two weeks ago. It's a beautifully designed little thing, doesn't feel cheap or flimsy at all. The picture quality is fine, not mind-blowing but certainly better than I had expected. I've taken very few shots that weren't indoors at night, and most have come out really well. It's small enough to carry everywhere; it has become one of the things I just put in my pocket every morning. The programme that came with it is very straightforward - no frills but a very nice interface. What can I say - highly recomended, and they even give you a free bag of sweets...

visitor avatar My camera arrived this morning and all I have to say is Amazing! especially when it comes with a giant bag of sweets, cheers firebox

visitor avatar Yep, got it yesterday. Took some piccies in the office and it worked a treat. Took it out on the town last night and just one shot came out well. This camera (like all the sub £100 ones I expect) doesn't like dark conditions much at all! Other than that, this camera's a little beaut. Recommended!

visitor avatar Sorry to be a geek, but it's important to me and my dad (not Norris, but knows him and everything)... Norris hasn't been involved with the Book of records for some years now since some shysters took over. That's why there's so many crappy "biggest fart" type records in there, cos they're appealing to the low end market. If you don't mind that, fine, but don't let them sell something from which Norris dissociated himself (oh yes, rows etc.) on the back of the old GBR. Sad, I know, but go on, we all have *something* that rilly rilly annoys us?!

visitor avatar I just got the Slimshot today, it is exactly the same size as a credit card, only thicker of course. The little carrying pouch you get is cool, and it has a slot at the back for a credit card, which is nice. To get the camera working you slide the switch on the side and the lense pops forward, around 5mm, take you pics, then push the lense back in to turn it off. You also have the option to turn the beep off, it will give a quiet beep when you turn it on, but will remember if you dont want it to beep, for those spy moments. I was suprised how bad it performed inside, unless you have shed loads of light the pics will be VERY dark, even with the Autobrite technology, which is permanently engaged. Outside in the sun it is fantastic, pics have lots of colour and detail. You get PC and MAC software, which most of the other micro cams dont have, the MAC software is just a double click to install, and no restart needed. You get a photo album package, which you must install as it downloads the pics for you. Its not very fast at downloading, but you do see thumbnails as each image is loaded on your computer, so you have something to look at while it works away. The inbuilt battery is an excellent idea, when you connect via USB to your PC it will automatically recharge, the manual says its good for 500 before replacement, which would be a camera shop job. You have an LCD gauge of how much battery is left, and also options in the software to see the percentage. For £80 it is expensive, £10 more gets you a 1 million+ camera with LCD screen, but its 10 times as big. If you can afford it go for it, with the summer now on us there will be loads of light to capture outdoor fun, and it can be put in any pocket without a buldge.

visitor avatar This is a good camera. Always gets a "wow" when people first see it. It takes good shots for on-screen computer display, recharges automatically when you plug it into your usb port. If you are looking for a simple neat digital camera; think seriously about buying this camera
Mark McCartney, Greenisland - 16th August 2002
visitor avatar This is a very well made cheap camera. Ok so the specs don't compare well to the blink (twice the price and only 26 photos), but the picture quality is much better and the rechargable battery last longer. It's well worth the extra money.
Wiggey, Deby - 1st August 2002
visitor avatar This is a very well designed and thought out product. The software is the easiest to use I have come across so far (believe me I've tried most of the sub £100 digital cameras on the market!) The case that it ships with is a neat addition although the camera doesn't fit quite as snugly as i'd like so be careful when taking it out of your pocket or wallet. A neat feature is that it takes pictures instantly when you press the shutter button which frustratingly the Blink doesn't always do. I carry mine with me everywhere and absolutely love it.
