There are loads of ways to help save the world, but not many of them are as cunning as the IDAPT i1 Eco Charger. How come? Well, regular chargers will use power as long as they are plugged into the wall, even if no gadget is attached. The IDAPT i1 Eco Charger automatically shuts the power off, including standby power, once your gizmo is fully charged.

This will make an excellent travel charger when space and weight is at a premium, as it has many adaptors and can charge two devices at once. However be warned it charges INCREDIBLY slowly. I unpacked it, and put my iPhone 4S and Lumia 800 onto charge. 25 minutes later, the iphone has gained 4% battery and risen to 73%, the Lumia has not risen a bar and is still indicating a critically low battery.
In contrast, I have since unplugged and returned to using my iPhone charger, it has risen to 81% in five minutes. Alex, Sittingbourne - 1st August 2012
Brilliant idea however I find that when my phone is plugged in to the adaptor the micro USB will not stay in the phone at the right angle when placed on my bedside table so our does not charge. Andrea, Gosport - 16th April 2012

I got this for Xmas as I am obsessed with saving electric. I use one of those electricity monitors and have noticed it drops 1p when when it turns off. So to me thats a huge saving of £30 per year that more than pays for itself. The only thing I am disappointed in is it wont charge 2 iPhones at the same time. Sarah, Portsmouth - 18th January 2012
