Skatecycle
If Tron made skateboards
Exclusive: Now available in black!
Already making waves across the pond, this cool piece of kit is the world’s first self-propelled hubless skate. Just slot your feet into the space where the hubs should be and carve down a hill (like a snowboarder), or weave along the flat. The clever set up lets you propel yourself along indefinitely, without ever taking your feet off the plates!
The design looks like something straight out of Tron!
Propel yourself along the flats
Sure, mastering the Skatecycle takes time (20 minutes in our case. Oh alright, we're still practicing). But at the first glimmer of getting it right you'll be hooked! And once you've weaved your way from A to B, it’ll even fold up for easy storage. Honestly, you’ll wonder how you ever got by with just your legs.

This is terrible if you have already learned on an alive board or a ripstick. It doesn't move as well, the hinges are the biggest let down.Kit, Storrington - 7th January 2012
Firebox says: Just takes a bit of time to get used to we think, Kit. :)
When will black be in stock?Bob, Hell - 11th December 2011
Firebox says: Hi Bob, although there is no guarantee, we are hoping that these will be back in stock sometime next week.
Hi how does it cope on a quite rough pavement or ground.Charlie, Hertfordshire - 5th November 2011
Firebox says: Hi Charlie, we recommend, for best results, that you only use the skatecycle on a flat surface
Is there a weight limit on this? I'm nearly 18st! Could I still use it?Damon, United Kingdom - 23rd October 2011
Firebox says: Hi Damon, I'm afraid it has a limit of 15 stone.
Is there a way of stopping one of these without jumping off or crashing into sumthing?Jonathan, - 6th October 2011
Firebox says: Hey Jonathan! We recommend that you don't go any faster than your skill level allows! Because this product is at its best and most fun to ride on flat surfaces, it becomes comfortable to just turn and slow down. If it's speed your after then there is always the famed Powerslide technique that you can use to stop yourself! Check out the Skatecycle website for videos on how to learn this, as well as other skills and techniques. https://www.brooklynworkshop.com/blog/
I got one of these for my birthday in June. Still not managed to get the hang of moving more than about 2metres but good fun none the less!Anna MacDonald, Peterborough, UK - 18th July 2011
How is it self-propelled.Gareth, The Deepings - 10th July 2011
Firebox says: Through the lateral movement of your feet and weight (basically by moving your feet side-to-side) - check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-RbO_6ZiFY
When you say 'Currently only available in white' does this mean you are expecting more colours? Tron colours like on YouTube with rope lighting?Edd Yeo, Midlands - 4th July 2011
Firebox says: We'd love to Edd, however we are currently only offering white, as soon as this changes we'll let everyone know.
