If you love music, mud and Mother Nature you’re probably heading to a camp site at some point this summer. But why take shelter in some dull, conventional tent when you can recreate the Summer of Love in the hippie-tastic VW Camper Van Tent.

Officially licensed, this stunning four-man (or lady, natch) tent is a luxe, full-size replica of the iconic 1965 VW Camper Van synonymous with 60s counterculture. It’s so evocative you can almost hear the Mamas and the Papas singing California Dreamin’ every time you feast your eyes on its beautifully breadloaf-ish form. Indeed we half expected Mama Cass to tumble out when we first saw this groovy Vee-Dub. You’ll be the envy of the campsite!

But there’s more to this highly realistic pretend hippie/surfermobile than mere good looks. Just like its vehicular counterpart you can stand up inside – handy if you don’t fancy crawling around on your hands and knees after a day at the main stage. What’s more its fabric roof and sides are 3000mm and 1000mm respectively – mighty impressive, especially when you consider British Military spec is only 800mm (and we consider things like that quite a lot).

Tricky to put up but from a distance looks great. Up close poor quality printing! there is red marks over the white parts. Still awaiting a response from firebox.... .

Does the tent come with an attachable floor and can you add a stove jack for a portable wood burning stove?

This tent looks absolutely AMAZING, and dying to buy one! but why is it sooo expensive? there are a lot of tents that are the same size and a lot cheaper, is it just because its like a vw? :).

Firebox says: Hi Sally Ann, there's a lot of factors that go into the pricing of an item like this, but the licensing probably does have an impact. Still, we don't think it's too expensive for a quality tent of this size with a cool, unique design!

Has anybody thought to offer a reproduction Westphalia companion tent, like the real campers had? It would make a nice living room and bathroom, as was intended in the real one. Just a thought---.

It has arrived and all I can say is WOW!!! Hes called benji and is the nearest ill get to having a real one! Absolutley massive!! Took less than 20 mins to put up. Love it!!!!
