For just such adventurers, the GOPro HD Helmet HERO is the world’s highest-performance wearable 1080p HD video and stills camera. Letting you capture your many daredevil feats of bravery/lunacy and relive them again and again. The waterproof, shockproof and (virtually) bombproof polycarbonate case will take all the punishment you can dish out. Sand, snow, seaweater... this tough little number will take them all on.

Capture every moment of the action in stunning High Definition

The camera records at professional-quality 1080p, 960p and 720p HD resolutions, at either 30 or 60 frames per second – capturing every bit of the action in stunning detail. One charge of the camera’s battery gives you around two and half hours of shooting time. Plug in a 32GB SD card and you can capture up to nine hours of footage.

But not only will the Helmet HERO shoot HD video, it’ll also take poster-print quality 5MP stills. Take one at a time, or set the camera to take a photo at 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 second intervals – you’d be surprised how many great shots you’ll get when you leave the camera to do it for you!

Everything you need to get started

You can mount the Helmet HERO in several ways. A headband-style strap lets you slip the camera over your head quickly, and share filming duties between you and your friends. While a separate lace-through strap acts as a more permanent feature for vented helmets. A few curved and flat adhesive mounts are also available for securing the camera to your board, vehicle, or any other piece of gear. Creating the kind of shots usually seen in extreme sports shows and videos. “Look, ma! No hands!”

Handlebar and Seatpost Adapter

Fits 1.9cm to 3.5cm diameter poles

Fix your camera onto your bike with this rugged tube clamp. The polycarbonate Seatpost Adapter can be mounted to your handlebars, seatposts, or anywhere on the bike frame itself. Since it has been designed to fit any poles from 1.9cm to 3.5cm in diameter, it’ll even attach to windsurfing and kitesurfing control bars.

The 3-way adjustability allows you to lock the camera at any angle. Film yourself, the course ahead, or the rider behind you – it’s great for capturing the speed of your run, or the thrill of a chase!

As mentioned on another review, I find this quite bulky and it tends to get in the way. As a (cheaper) and smaller/more discreet alternative I recommend the Immortal recording glasses. Having tried both out I am confident of the winner.
