Here at Firebox HQ, we spend a lot of time with our hands on our hips; scanning the horizon for cutting-edge design and dazzling new technology. But every now and then a product comes along that plays merry hell with our composure.

Causing the latest outbreak of giddy squeals and badly-executed acrobatics (several members of the Customer Service team are still missing after the human pyramid collapsed) is the Sagemcom Sixty Cordless Telephone. Effortlessly pairing modern functionality with the classic looks of a vintage telephone, the Sixty manages to look high-tech and timeless all at once.

In the base unit the tactile keypad surrounds a lavish LCD touchscreen – all inside a chrome dial. Displaying the time (and numerous other functions) when not in use, the screen lets you easily access your phone book, messages, and phone settings. What’s more, it’ll flash up the caller ID when a call comes in.

Far cooler than contemporary cordless phones, the Sixty’s lightweight handset has the vintage feel of a classic telephone receiver (but a significantly larger range). Elegant and simple, it’s comfortable to hold, or even nestle against your shoulder while you’re cooking, vacuuming, or backflipping. Allee-oop!
