Here at Firebox HQ, we spend a lot of time with our hands on our hips; scanning the horizon for cutting-edge design and dazzling new technology. But every now and then a product comes along that plays merry hell with our composure.

Causing the latest outbreak of giddy squeals and badly-executed acrobatics (several members of the Customer Service team are still missing after the human pyramid collapsed) is the Sagemcom Sixty Cordless Telephone. Effortlessly pairing modern functionality with the classic looks of a vintage telephone, the Sixty manages to look high-tech and timeless all at once.

handset/receiver close-up

Wireless handset lets you stroll all around the house while chatting – no more tangled wires!

retro style with modern features

Smart LCD Touchscreen and tactile keypad

In the base unit the tactile keypad surrounds a lavish LCD touchscreen – all inside a chrome dial. Displaying the time (and numerous other functions) when not in use, the screen lets you easily access your phone book, messages, and phone settings. What’s more, it’ll flash up the caller ID when a call comes in.

Far cooler than contemporary cordless phones, the Sixty’s lightweight handset has the vintage feel of a classic telephone receiver (but a significantly larger range). Elegant and simple, it’s comfortable to hold, or even nestle against your shoulder while you’re cooking, vacuuming, or backflipping. Allee-oop!

visitor avatar Any reason why this might not work on Virgin Media phone network? Normal phone works but this doesn't.
Wilf, Didcot - 14th March 2012
Firebox says: Hi Wilf, Not sure why! Give us a email on info@firebox.com and we can try and sort this!
visitor avatar Do you know whether this will work on a phone network? I live in a school and we have ugly school phones that I'm desperate to replace! :).
Deborah, Godalming - 23rd February 2012
Firebox says: Every phone network is different so it's hard to say, but if all you require from the phone is a standard telephone cable then essentially the Sagemcom is no different from any other phone and it should slot into a network just fine.
visitor avatar Hi, does it work on European phone jacks?
Petra, Zagreb - 24th January 2012
Firebox says: Hi Petra, It sure will, BUT you will need to use a plug converter and change the UK phone lead for a local one, which you should be able to get from your local electronics store
visitor avatar Can a Sixty phone be used in the U. S?
Barbara, U.s. - 22nd January 2012
Firebox says: Yes Barbara, it can. But you will need to head to your local electronics store (radioshack etc) and buy a US power lead (no voltage converter needed, just a plug socket etc) and a US phone plug lead.
visitor avatar Help can't answer my sagemcom telephone from handset only on talk through.
