What do James Bond, The Saint, Milk Tray Man and Derek Flint all have in common? No, not a strange penchant for black polo necks, nylon-esque hairdos and ill-fitting leisure suits. They all simply love playing with ultra-compact, do-everything, state-of-the-art cameras. And now, thanks to the amazingly versatile Blink Digital Camera you can too. Of course, unlike the aforementioned super-spies' pics, your snaps should be far more entertaining, as the Blink's tiny dimensions make it ideal for party animals, sports freaks and clubbers alike. And because it's digital you'll never have to explain yourself to those pesky processing people! What would 'M' say? Not much in all probability, because at just 5.5cmx5.5cm the Blink is small enough to secrete from any boss, no matter how perceptive.

In fact, anyone with a passing interest in espionage should get their mitts on this little baby. Taking quick pics while nobody's looking is simple and infinitely less conspicuous than sticking small mirrors to your shoes or wearing soppy X-ray specs. (Take it from us, they don't work).

But it's not all about size; the tiny Blink is crammed with so many features even 'Q' would be lost for words. It's a digital camera, streaming video camera, USB video camera and video conferencing camera all in one. Now pay attention 007 because each Blink features Streaming Snapshot® mode, which means 100 images can be rapidly captured and 'streamed' to create your own AVI clips. All the software is included so sharing vid clips via email or on the web is a doddle.

The Blink's 8MB memory means it can save up to 300 photos (at 320x240), and its 640x480 resolution is just right for capturing every single moment of drunken mayhem on holidays and nights out. Complete with handy neck strap and swivel belt clip, the Blink is also great for sporty-types who like their cameras sleek, small and overloaded with nifty functions.

The Blink really is the business when it comes to transferring snaps and clips onto your PC. It comes complete with a powerful but user-friendly software package that makes editing, enhancing, retouching, printing and montaging a total doddle. Which, in plain English, means grafting a pigeon's head and J-Lo's bottom half onto a snapshot of the boss is a piece of cake. Of course, whether you actually send it or not is up to you. The Blink's software also allows you to place photos in calendars, frames and greetings cards. The possibilities are endless.

If the buzz around Firebox HQ is anything to go by this ingenious little gizmo is going to be a real bestseller. So don't think, Blink!

visitor avatar To be honest, Im a 14 year old girl who is obsessed about cameras, I saw the small, cheap camera and radio shack and I knew I had to try it out, with 69.00, nothin can go wrong. And plus u could easily return it. So I bought it and read the instructions and took a few dozen shots, when I got home I installed the programs needed to view my shots. And was I amazed, I never knew a tiny digital cheap camera, smaller than my small hands could take decent pictures! I was soo happy, u could hook it up to ur computer like a portable webcam..it is great! If you are wondering if u should get one. .dont wait..its the smallest camera ive ever seen with the best price..and decent.

visitor avatar I got this camera for my birhday. When I showed it to my mum, she thought it was something out of a si-fi movie! When I brought it into school, my teacher thought it was a calculator!! It has excellent image resolution and is a great web cam even with no batterys!
Will, Pembrokeshire, Wales - 20th October 2002
visitor avatar WOW! Thats all I can say. At first I could not believe how teeny it was and it takes great pics for a digi cam that is so small. The streaming snapshot mode is brill cos its like making your own mini movie. Software was a bit dodgy at first on Windows XP, had to uninstall and reinstall a couple of times but you could not ask for much more for 40 quid! MUST BUY!!
Claire, County Durham - 14th October 2002
visitor avatar It wins on size everytime but its achilles heel is the battery life. I suppose one can only expect so much of one little AAA battery...
Mark Powell, Berkshire - 13th October 2002
visitor avatar Love the camera - great value - if you take in bright daylight the pictures are fab but changed the battery on holiday and lost about 40 pictures so make sure you take a standard camera as well.
Amanda Farrell, London - 11th October 2002
visitor avatar The Camera is a great idea and a brilliant price but thats not too say i haven't had a few problems. On some occasions, you take some photo's then try to upload them onto computer and find that there are question marks were the photo's should be. This is very annoying when you have 150 holiday photo's on it and no way of replacing them.
Matt Feather, Bagshot - 11th October 2002
visitor avatar EXCELLENT! Allows you to carry it anywhere and take sneaky pics of your mates being idiots without em knowing till the next day! GREAT FOR VALUE! although a bit tricky to get the pics onto your pc and print them off.
Simo, Bradford - 9th October 2002
visitor avatar Great little gizmo. I love mine. It does have a small problem with not taking photo's in anything other than perfect light though. So no clubs sadly. The AVI feature is awesome though. Buy one of these now!
Martyn, South Wales - 9th October 2002
visitor avatar A small size of the product is somewhat deceptive, in that its potential is simply huge. I'd wanted a digital camera for a long time, but for no real purpose. At just £40, this was the perfect camera for me... I ordered it on Sunday morning, so assuming the order was processed on Monday, it took two days, arriving midday on Wednesday. During the car journey home from the post office I took 50 photos, then a further 50 at work. Batteries are still full... I'm quite impressed with the quality of the output. As a webcam, it offers a much clearer picture than my old webcam does. As a digital still camera, the quality is perfectly acceptable. Admittedly, the edges suffer from minor blurring, and moving subjects aren't a great idea, but be honest, for £40 you don't expect a professional standard capturing device. To conclude, this camera is perfect for those wouldn't-normally-have-a-camera-on-me moments where you'll be glad to have a 2" diameter square camera in your pocket. Well worth the money. Whether it be spying on an associate, or documenting the day's action, this is the perfect budget camera to do so with. Tom
Tom, England - 2nd October 2002
visitor avatar This camera is sadly NOT(!) as good as you might expect by reading all these reviews. I choosed between The lespion cam and this one and I now think that I was wrong. It really takes 2 seconds to take every picture with it. That means that if the target moves even a little during the photoing the photo gets blurry. I must say that I expected more from this. Better to buy a camera at $200-$300 instead and get som real quality...
