Would this work if I plugged it into a laptop?

Nice keyboard, but sadly it's has US keyboard configuration which completely confused one of my clients on install. And although it arrived in a sealed box it was scuffed and looked like it had been wiped over with a wet cloth prior to packaging. For the price I guess I was expecting a little more. Maybe firebox could update their site to let people know it's a US keyboard?
