Eco Can
Forget flasks, this can can

Lid that looks like a ring pull!
It looks like a regular tin can but this durable drinks container is made from biodegradable PLA (a kind of corn starch) which is infinitely kinder to Mother Nature than petroleum-based counterparts. That means you can drink on the go whilst doing your bit for the environment, a particularly satisfying feeling if you fill up with icy beer. ‘Urp…look at me, I’m shaving the enviromum.’

This cup is awesome, it has a nice chunky feel and although it doesn`t keep your drink warm for very long, it is ideal for a short commute as it means your caffeine isn`t still scalding hot after half an hour like in some travel mugs! It even stood up to being on its side for 10 minutes in my bag after I accidentally knocked it over and despite being full, it didn`t leak (although I would recommend not testing this!) It also looks cool and I`ve had many colleagues and strangers asking me where I got it from!Em Norton, Dagenham - 11th February 2012
If the Eco Can is biodegradable, how long will it be useable for? I really hope this isn't a stupid question.... .Katherine, Clydebank - 20th November 2011
Firebox says: You will get at least 5 years enjoyment before it starts to melt!
Overall good little can, nifty size, very water tight, however after just a few uses the plastic has cracked where it holds down the hinge for the lid, kinda disappointing really.Luke, Selby, North Yorkshire, UK - 10th April 2011
Firebox says: Sounds faulty, please email us at info@firebox.com with your order number and we'll arrange a replacement for you.
Awesome.... Love my wee eco can! No-one at work will now wonder whose drink is whose.... Especially as we cannot drink water from the taps at the moment due to the earthquake! Love it and love Firebox!Jax, Christchurch, New Zealand - 19th March 2011
I have just got my Eco mug and it is good but I've noticed that water has got into the middle bit somehow which can't be good since it makes a noise when empty now :(.Bob Atherton, Darlington - 18th March 2011

I was so excited to see this product. I have a Mini and struggle to find thermal cups that fit in my car's cup holder. This being marketed as looking just like a regular tin can seemed perfect. However, it is slightly bigger that a standard drinks can, so is too wide to fit in my cup holder. I can't fault the seal of the lid - no drips, but the tight fit of the 'ring pull' made it impossible to open whilst driving. Once it was open, it was very difficult to drink from without getting a wet nose from touching the underside of the ring-pull, plus I needed to tip my head back to get the drink out. I'm afraid all in all, totally unsuitable for use whilst driving, so I will be returning it. Looks great though!Sue, Harrogate - 14th March 2011
Are these handy looking gizmo's re-usable? And will it hold coke?Connor, Wales - 13th March 2011
Firebox says: Yes they are re-usable, simply wash out to use time and time again. It will hold coke but as it is very fizzy it might be wise to use cola instead.
This saved me from vile vending machine tea this week on a course.... . Wonderful!!Jo, Cheltenham - 11th March 2011
I was wandering how you manage to keep PLA stable in the microwave, since PLA usually starts to transform between 50-70 degrees celcius.Noor, Netherlands - 9th March 2011
Firebox says: Our suppliers have tested this product in the microwave and assure us that it is safe.
If I took it to my favourite coffee shop what size cup would it be?Bob Atherton, Darlington - 6th March 2011
Firebox says: Now that would depend on the coffee house. However, what I can tell you is that it has the capacity to hold 280ml.
