Zap enemies while waiting for the bus

Attempting to use a touchscreen device when you’re wearing gloves is a bit like trying to pick your nose wearing a balaclava. Because unlike fleshy fingers, gloves don’t conduct electricity. So what’s it to be, frozen fingers or unusable gizmos? Thanks to Firebox, neither.

SmarTouch Gloves are super soft, gloves with special conductive material woven into the thumb and index finger, so you can tap, pinch and scroll even when it’s minus whatever outside. Skin-like responsiveness? App-solutely. Staying toastie whilst fiddling with your gadgets has never been easier.

Conductive material in the fingertips

Just think, with a pair of these innocuous looking gloves you’ll be able to text in the depths of winter, scroll through photos at freezing bus stops, manipulate your satnav when the heater’s on the blink and photograph polar bears without exposing delicate fingers to the elements. Now that’s gotta be worth a hand.

visitor avatar Absolutely the best pair of gloves I ever bought!!! Using them now to write this review, really soft as well as great sensitivity to my iPhone & iPad. Thanks Firebox for the sweets aswell.
Sean K, London - 8th December 2011
visitor avatar Will the Fairisle Black/Grey gloves be available soon (for men), such as those in the video? Thank you.
Louie, UK - 3rd December 2011
Firebox says: Hi Louie, we're going to have to come clean and say that the gloves in the video are in fact women's gloves! Though if you like the look of them, why not grab a pair - they're just as comfy as the mens!
visitor avatar I was wondering- will you be bringing out a Men's leather version anytime soon? I have a friend who would love these but he's a bit of a fabric snob, so acrylic and lycra won't cut it with him unfortunately!
Anna Maysey, London - 14th November 2011
Firebox says: Oh dear! watch this space for any updates, you can also join our mailing list for new product announcements
visitor avatar When I first got these I was impressed. But then after about a month of hardly using the gloves my main finger (right index) developed a loose threads. I shall be talking to customer services at Firebox about a refund if possible. As there are now other types of the same product.
Andrew Simpson, London - 18th March 2011
Firebox says: Please do get in touch and we can sort this out for you - email info@firebox.com
visitor avatar I was looking forward to these gloves very much but unfortunately the gloves weren't suitable for me. 1) The conductive material doesn't seem to work on my matt screen protector, perhaps it only works on regular screen protectors? Has anyone else experienced this? 2) My small Chinese hands meant that my thumbs didn't reach the end of the glove so the conductive areas were hanging off, which defeated the purpose of the gloves! I emailed Firebox returns team and they've agreed to refund with freepost, so thanks for the good customer service!
Katie, Cambridge - 22nd February 2011
visitor avatar Just bought these gloves and they do everything they say, gloves are a very comfy fit and warm to wear and have had no problem using the touch screen on my iPhone seem to be able to hit all the right buttons when txting which is good certainly would recommend these gloves to friends and relatives.
Martin Adams, Glasgow - 6th February 2011
visitor avatar Is this available for next day delivery when it comes out? is there anywhere else I can get this from?
Max, London - 30th January 2011
visitor avatar I was planning on getting these for my friend as he is allergic to plastic and got an iPad for Christmas and was curious to know if there is plastic on the inside of the gloves.
James Woods, The Forest - 13th January 2011
Firebox says: Hi James, we've been advised that the gloves are a mix of Lycra & Acrylic, but do come in a plastic bag. We would advise you're friend to take care, and contact us if any further help is needed.
visitor avatar I have large hands, will the ladies size be right for me or should I order the mens please?
Gretel Nevols, Bedfordshire - 11th January 2011
visitor avatar These gloves are my new favourite thing ever. No longer do I have to take them off to check an email, change song or answer a call! They work perfectly for all those and more - if you're writing an epic you might want to wait until you get inside but that goes for pretty much all tasks. The grip on the glove stops your phone from slipping out of your hand which is also a handy feature. Well worth the cash. Get 'em bought.
