what you get in the box

Small and portable, the perfect gift for tea aficionados!

Just as the best-tasting eggs come from free-range hens, the best-tasting cups of tea come from leaves that aren’t cooped up inside a stuffy teabag. Any teapot-fancier will tell you, there’s just no beating loose-leaf tea for taste, but portability is a bit of an issue. While we wait for someone to invent a flat-packed teapot, we’ll happily settle for the Tovolo Teago, which lets you brew your own loose-leaf tea absolutely anywhere.

Immersed in a cup of boiling water, this compact press will squeeze the full flavour from your favourite loose leaves. It also comes with a handy cap for keeping the drips away from your clothing or bag after use. Neat, portable and easy to use, it’s a must-have for any tea-totaller.

visitor avatar It's an OK product although It's not ideal for cleaning! The plunger part also serves little purpose other then to keep it all self contained between locations since the water falls through the fine mesh instantaneously. I will probably be purchasing a different tea infuser as this one is some what impractical on the basis of the difficulties with cleaning. On a more positive note the compact design and the ability to fill the plunger part with your favourite loose tea is nice!

visitor avatar Can this be used with fine loose tea (i.e. Not whole tea leaves) The stuff you can buy in a box?
Matt C, Edgware, London - 28th April 2011
Firebox says: It sure can Matt.
visitor avatar I've been a coffee drinker all my life, hate making tea... all that mucking about with icky tea-bags. I will drink tea if it's made by someone else and the soggy bag's in their bin, tea making has always seemed so behind the times... Until now!! Tea stick, tea tube, call it what you will, it's a design revolution that may make me come back to the great British cuppa!
Ricky, Margate - 17th February 2011
visitor avatar How many cups of tea does it make? One? This would save me loads of money at university!
Neen, York - 15th February 2011
Firebox says: It's designed for one cup.
visitor avatar Could you use it 4 making coffee on the go as well?
Bob Atherton, Darlington - 14th February 2011
Firebox says: No the grains may slip through, I'd stick to tea!.
