Description

The smart way to sort your change

Because paper and plastic are the post-millennial payment methods of choice, most of us tend to chuck our loose change into the nearest receptacle and procrastinate over sorting it out until we're either really skint or really bored.

And although manually sorting out mountains of coins can be rather satisfying in an 'I live on top of a beanstalk' kind of way, the novelty soon wears off when you lose count or knock over your 5p skyscrapers for the umpteenth time. Besides, this is the fast-paced Noughties and who can be bothered wasting precious time sorting out shrapnel? Especially when the ingenious motorised Coin Sorter can do it for you.

Description

Who's going to sort out this mess?

Despite looking like a retro chemical set, this nifty little machine will sort out all your UK coin denominations, from 1p to £2, faster than you can sing 'If I were a rich man, ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.' Maybe even faster!

Operating the Coin Sorter is easy 50p-sy. Just turn the counter on and pour in your coins. The machine then magically filters the coins into transparent tubes marked with each denomination. All you have to do is bag 'em up and cash them in. The Coin Sorter can hold between 25 and 50 coins of each denomination, depending on the size.

If you're a real coin hoarder this little piece of money-sorting magic could quite feasibly pay for itself in one go. And trips to your local drinking emporium could be financed in an instant by pouring your weekly collection of coins into the Coin Sorter's eager cakehole.

Description Description Description

Just throw your coins in the top...

Watch as that loose change adds up...

See how many pennies you've saved!

The motorized Coin Sorter is also ideal for sorting out petty cash in the office, and it's incredibly gratifying watching the coins pile up - you almost feel as if you're getting something for nothing. Of course you're not, but get hold of a Coin Sorter and you'll never have to count, balance or pile your coins again. Sorted!

visitor avatar Actually this is not a review but a small question. Is there a version for Euro coins? If not, can you supply one for a happy customer of FireBox? I would be more than happy to get one of those. :).
Marios, Athens, Greece - 19th July 2011
Firebox says: Unfortunately this is the only model we have Marios, but we'll elt you know if that changes!
visitor avatar Is there a little screen or something that will count the change??
Craig Dyker, Montrose, Scotland - 4th July 2011
Firebox says: There isn't a screen, but the different sections have the amount of coins they can hold written on the side.
visitor avatar Waste of money unless you only want to sort your coins and not count them. The coin tubes do not hold the right amounts, 2p is one short, 5p is 2 short and so on. Whats the point in a coin sorter that cant count correctly.
B. Harding, Wiltshire - 30th January 2011
visitor avatar Not great I'm afraid. Maybe OK for minimal or home usage but definitely not ideal for business purposes.
Andy Townsend, London - 25th January 2011
visitor avatar I am quite disappointed with this. I bought it as a present for my finance. It sorts the coins well, apart from the odd 5p which it throws out or puts in with the 1ps! The tubes all say how much they hold.... . Or not! None of the tubes hold the number of coins that they say, whoever did the measuring on that needs a slap! I would say if you are wanting a coin sorter simply to separate different coins then this is great, but for counting money...NO CHANCE!!! You will be mortified if you go to the banks with bags of change that the coin sorter has 'sorted' to find that you are short in every bag! Each one of the tubes is the wrong size. Very disappointing!
Terri, Aberdeen - 19th January 2011
visitor avatar It's a great product, and works perfectly - I've had no problems with the coin sorting. However the little plastic tubes don't hold as many coins as they say they will. I've found the 2p tube only holds 24 coins (rather than 25), the 1p slot only holds 46 coins (instead of 50), the 5p slot only holds 38 (instead of 40). So if you intend to use this to count money as well, it's not very reliable and you should double check or the bags of coins you take to the bank wont have enough in.
Kaya Sinclair, United Kingdom - 13th November 2010
visitor avatar Is it something like a smash pot or can you take your money out ?
Alice, Surrey - 13th November 2010
Firebox says: It just sorts your coins into open tubes, no smashing involved.
visitor avatar I guess a Singaporean one is out of the question then? Me wants one :(.
Sven, Singapore - 27th August 2010
Firebox says: At the moment anyway! Who knows what the future holds. Pounds sterling only Sven, until then.
visitor avatar Will you have an Euro version?
Henry, Belgium - 5th August 2010
Firebox says: Nothing in the pipeline we're afraid.
visitor avatar Can you put the coins in there like a money pot for storage and then turn it on for counting after you've saved a weeks worth of change?
Aliysa, Stafford - 29th July 2010
Firebox says: You certainly can - just be aware that there is a limit on each coin i.e 50x 1p, 25x 2p etc.
