Lollies made by theZoku Quick Lolly Maker

Line up your lollies!

Licking lollies is lovely but buying them sucks. Because apart from the expense, you have to wrestle with those confusing sliding doors on the chiller cabinet and delve into its icy depths, oblivious to your frozen treat’s age and provenance. So wouldn’t it be cool if you could make your own delicious ice lollies in a matter of minutes. You can with the Zoku Quick Lolly Maker.

Simply place this ingenious gizmo in the freezer for 24 hours and it’s ready to use wherever you fancy, no mains or batteries required. Just insert the pop sticks into the moulds, pour in your favourite drink and watch in wonder as the lollies form in around 7-9 minutes. Release them using the idiot-proof ‘super tool’ and get licking. Slurptastic!

You can also experiment with striped lollies, create different flavoured centres and add sliced fruit or crushed nuts. Icely does it? The possibilities are endless! How to make Strawberry Lemonade Quick Pops™
  • Serves 6

  • Ingredients
    • 1 cup lemonade
    • 4 oz hulled strawberries
  • Directions
    • 1. Add lemonade and strawberries to a blender and puree until smooth. Strain through a mesh sieve into a measuring cup, using a spoon to push it through faster. If the mixture is foamy, let it sit for 20 minutes to settle down. Then give it a gentle stir before assembling pops.
    • 2. Remove The Zoku Ice Lolly™ Maker from your freezer, insert sticks and pour the strawberry lemonade blend into molds until you reach the fill line. Let freeze completely, then remove the pops with the Super Tool and enjoy! Repeat with remaining 3 pops.

visitor avatar It does what it says, quite fun initially. However, it is still rather overpriced when you can buy ice lolly moulds for fraction of the price. Also, the mould is quite big and heavy and needs to be kept upright in the fridge taking up space.
Katie, Cambridge - 25th April 2011
visitor avatar We were very disappointed. Only managed to get one lolly out, the other just wouldn't budge. We tried again and were no more successful. We followed the instructions exactly.
Sue Colton, Cheshire - 15th February 2011
visitor avatar Can you make frozen yogurt/smoothie lollies?
Nay, Plymouth - 7th February 2011
Firebox says: Sugar free beverages will not work, but if they are sugar based they might- not tried and tested yet, anyone else given it a go?
visitor avatar I want one but why cant you but alcohol in them?
Jack, Newcastle - 19th November 2010
Firebox says: Alcohol's freezing point is too low! That's why vodka doesn't go solid when you keep it in the freezer. It just won't freeze.
visitor avatar I bought this thinking it would be fantastic and it is but a little disappointed I'm afraid, especially with all the different lollies on the box it says you can do, they are quite small lollies, and you need to have a bit of room in your freezer to use this, my kids loved it but as our house is quite warm it did take a while for the lollies to set, apart from that it is a good buy. thanks firebox x
Sam, Isle Of Man - 16th August 2010
visitor avatar Well I'm wondering can you use coke and Lemonade and drinks like that ?? because I maybe thinking of buying one its because me and my sister made coke drinks buy filling up coke in a glass and freezing it!! then grab a spoon and YUMMY!!
Ashley, 2 Watson Rise Kelior - 9th August 2010
Firebox says: You sure can!.
visitor avatar A bit confused about what limits apply to what liquids you can use. Web info says you cannot use plain water or sugar-free beverages (mmm?). The obvious question is 'Can I make a Pimms, G&T or Mojito lolly?'
Trev, Birmingham - 19th July 2010
Firebox says: It's untested Trev but unfortunately drinks with a high alcohol volume just won't freeze well. You might get away with a beer lolly but are unlikely to get good 'spirit' lollys we're afraid.
visitor avatar OMG, That looks so cool! I was just wondering... How can you make the striped lollies? 'Cos wouldn't the different juices just mix together? I am curious! x.
Rachel Mitchell, Aberdeen - 14th July 2010
Firebox says: You simply have to freeze a section at a time with the striped lollys but the Zoku includes instructions for all sorts of amazing designs.
visitor avatar Someone got me one of these and omg they are stunning! Just starting to make some of the weird and wonderful lollies from recipes on the web (I started with just fruit juice ones) and it's just getting better and better! My three year old is loving helping too! :).
Gina, Southam - 9th July 2010
visitor avatar Once the unit has been in the freezer for 24 hrs, how many lollies will it make before needing to go back in the freezer, or does it never need to go back in the freezer?
Ian Grace, Lancashire - 9th July 2010
Firebox says: It will make 3 sets (so 9 lollies altogether).
