Personalised Classic Novels

Rachel reading about her adventure in wonderland!

Buying a classic novel is all very worthy, but let’s be honest, the chances of you reading it are about zero. But what if you were the star of the book and your friends and relatives played supporting roles? Now you’re talking!

Thanks to Personalised Classic Novels you could soon be reading Amanda’s Adventures in Wonderland, Rodney and Julie or Shamus Holmes. The process is elementary, dear reader: upon ordering you’ll receive an email containing an order form that lets you change the names of the leading characters in your chosen book. You can even write a personal dedication which will appear in the novel you're about to star in.

Personalised Classic Novels

Uniquely tweaked classic

Before you know it you’ll receive a uniquely tweaked edition of a literary classic. Choose from Alice’s in Wonderland, Pride and Prejudice, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Little Women, Great Expectations, Treasure Island, Peter Pan and Romeo and Juliet.

Just think, it could be you visiting Miss Havesham, your dad getting hot and heavy with those saucy Bennet sisters, or your mate Phil hunting for treasure and fighting Sailors!

Personalised Classics back cover

Your personalised characters are even printed on the back cover!

You’ll never tire of seeing familiar names seamlessly incorporated into a classic novel. "Second to the right, and straight on till morning." That, Peter had told Aaron, was the way to the Neverland.

Stunningly original gifts for narcissistic bookworms and anyone who fancies seeing their name in print, Personalised Classic Novels will become cherished possessions, read and re-read for years to come. ‘What's in a name?’ asked Shakespeare. Quite a lot, we reckon.

visitor avatar If I was to call the Rabbit in Alice and Wonderland, 'John the Rabbit' in the questionnaire form would he appear as that in the book? or would I just name him 'John' in the questionnaire? I want my friends to know he is the Rabbit not just a person.
Ciara, N.Ireland - 13th March 2012
Firebox says: Hi Ciara, you would need to name him John as the book would already describe what character he is.
visitor avatar I am thinking about ordering this as a Christmas present but have a question first - can the genders be changed of any character? So, in Peter Pan, if you called Michael Darling Katie for example, would the character still be referred to as 'he' throughout the book? Thanks!
Livy, Hull - 5th December 2011
Firebox says: Hi Livy, unfortunately the genders of the characters cannot be altered. You are free to give a male character a female name but they will still be referred to as 'he.'
visitor avatar Ahh come on now! I'm so sad it's just English deliveries! Sure i'm only living in Ireland it's not that big a stretch!!
Geena, Ireland - 4th December 2011
Firebox says: We're very sorry Geena, this is due to restrictions imposed by the manufacturer.
visitor avatar I really wanted to make a book of alice in wonderland for my friend. I wanted all of our friends to be in the book however there are 8 of us and only six characters to personalise. Would it be possible to personalise two others?
Ellie, England - 13th November 2011
Firebox says: Unfortunately this is one wish that Firebox can't grant, Ellie. This is with the manufacturer of the books and their system does not currently allow for further customisation than the options they already have.
visitor avatar Absolutely amazing product couldn't be more personal!!! Ordered for my sister's birthday as she can never get anything with her name on in the shops!!! BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT YET!!!!!!!!
Sean Kedge, London - 9th November 2011
visitor avatar These look brilliant but do you have to personalise all the available characters?
Nigel, Lincoln - 6th November 2011
Firebox says: No Nigel, each book has it's own selection of available personalisation options, however you can choose to keep the original name.
visitor avatar Loved it! Bought my husband Treasure Island with him as the main character and his volleyball mates as the other guys. Easy to order (email sent quickly) and a fab and original present!
Georgina Bottomley, Dorset - 31st October 2011
Firebox says: Hi Georgina, glad to hear you liked it! Volleyball-playing pirates..... We think you might be onto something!
visitor avatar Just a question. Do you allow swearing in the names? The person I'm thinking of would get a kick out of renaming the wicked witch of the west.
Andy, Wales - 25th October 2011
Firebox says: It's your book Andy!
visitor avatar If I were to name myself as the wizard would the book be called "the wonderful Blue of oz" and also, in books such alice in wonderland If I name the rabbit 'joe' would it be printed as 'joe the rabbit' ?
Blue, London - 20th August 2011
Firebox says: Where possible your name will be in the name of the book. However with 'The Wizard of Oz' , The Wizard isn't a customisable character, so your name wouldn't be in the title. However you could have 'Blue in Wonderland'. With regards to The Rabbit character - it would just be referred to as 'Joe', not 'Joe the Rabbit.'
visitor avatar If you want to buy Peter Pan, then there is another character you can personalise. George Darling. I learned this the hard way. However, its a great product and a good gift idea.
