Swivel the projector

Swivel the projector
up, down and round!

Watching TV and movies on the big screen usually requires a TV and a big screen, neither of which is particularly portable. But thanks to the jaw-droppingly impressive Boombox Freeview DVD Projector you can do both without strapping a telly to your back.

The clue’s in the name because despite looking like Darth Vader’s boombox crossed with a pair of Bono’s most ludicrous shades, this all-in-one cinema/entertainment system projects DVDs and Freeview TV onto any flat surface you fancy.

Screen size projection

Projects screen-size upto 75"!

Simply plop in your discs, flip open the pivoting, swivelling LED-powered projector and gawp in awe as a quality image up to 75” is flung against the wall. But what’s with all this Freeview business? Well, thanks to a built in DVB-T tuner the Boombox will also spew out any Freeview channel you fancy. Anyone for a bit of big screen World Cup action? Back of the net!

Remote control Description Description

Remote control

Watch your favourite DVD!

Easily position the DVB-T Antenna

Turn up carrying this baby and you’ll be crowned greatest person in town in seconds (assuming you don’t put on Gigli or tune in to Countdown halfway through England v Brazil). Just in case you tire of assaulting your eyeballs with a non-stop cavalcade of movies and digital TV, the battery or mains-powered Boombox accommodates CDs and features an FM radio. It will even amplify iPods via its audio input and integrated speakers.

Function Icons
Speaking of eardrum bashing, you can hook up to a full-on 5.1 speaker system or listen via headphones. Rock-a-doodle-doo! Did we mention that it also boasts a USB socket and SD card slot, so you can slideshow through photos on the big screen? Crikey, this thing’s more versatile than Sammy Davis Jr. If only it could dance…

projecting the football

That's the footie sorted!

Ideal for party-going movie lovers, sports fans who’ve had the telly repossessed, victims of badly-timed power cuts and anyone who enjoys gawping at the bigger picture wherever they may roam, the Boombox Freeview DVD Projector is set to become the entertainment system of choice amongst itinerant TV/movie fans across the globe. And don’t waste time googling elsewhere because this stupendously engineered box of tricks is exclusive to Firebox. So there.

Will I be able to play movies directly from a USB portable hard drive? cos I want to play films from one, and if it doesn't does firebox have any items that does?
Ethan Chung, Sheffield - 27th May 2011
Firebox says: It can play movies from USB pen drives, but not from external hard drives.
You will be able to connect this device to any device that has s-video output...video cameras...laptops etc. .
R Devlin, Glasgow - 12th April 2011
Want to know how the picture is outside under sunlight? I know most projectors struggle at this.
Charlie Dunsmuir, Oxford - 10th April 2011
Firebox says: It won't be great Charlie, we would suggest a room with total darkness for best viewing.
Dose it come with the antenna ?
George, Brighton - 15th December 2010
Firebox says: Yes it comes with the DVB-T Antenna
Most of my files are in AVI format, will it play these? Also will it work with Irish freeview?
Michael, Donegal, Ireland - 15th November 2010
Firebox says: Yes it does support AVI format and we'll assume it works with Irish Freeview, but unfortunately we can't test it.
Will it work in India? Here power supply is generally in range of 50 Hz with 220 volt instead of 60 Hz in Other countries. In India Digital TV will work or not.
Amit Kr Jain, India - 14th November 2010
Firebox says: I'm afraid it is an EU only product. We do not ship this product to India.
YES, WE SHIP TO the united states!
