M-Cube

Desktop distraction

Imagine a cross between Newton’s Cradle, Rubik’s Cube, Silly Putty and bubble wrap. We know that’s difficult but it’s the only way we can describe the brilliantly addictive allure of the M-Cube.

Unlike any puzzley plaything we’ve ever seen, this boredom busting oojamiflip consists of 216 powerful rare earth magnets that can be shaped, squashed, sculpted, pulled apart and snapped together in unlimited ways. It really has to be seen to be disbelieved!

M-Cube

Small cube, big fun

Armed with an M-Cube you can form countless shapes, create chains, invent games, make jewellery, leave messages on the fridge and much, much more. You can also use it as a stress reliever: simply manipulate it, mangle it, crush it, re-arrange it and your troubles will float away. Maybe. Think of it as a miniature therapist. Indeed, the only thing you’ll need treatment for once you begin tinkering is hopeless M-Cube addiction.

Although it’s touted as a puzzle, there is no solution or pre-set ending to M-Cube. You simply fiddle with it. And fiddle with it. And fiddle with it. And…look, you get the idea. The point is this fascinating collection of north and south polarity boasting balls is completely unputdownable. Shove one in your pocket and you’ll never be bored again, wherever you may roam.

M-Cube

Exclusive gold version

As well as providing dual hemispherical brain stimulation (it says here), the M-Cube will appeal to anyone who enjoys manipulating strange objects – and they don’t get much stranger than this.

Available in gleaming silver and an exclusive gold version (only available at Firebox), this enthralling thingamajig is destined for greatness. If you can find a more absorbing gizmo for less than thirty quid we’d love to see it. Not bad for a load of balls!

press review "Feeling stressed? You need an M-Cube. Your troubles will melt away as you mash it, crush it, pull it apart and snap it together - very satisfying."

Visitor Reviews...

visitor avatar Really great little toy, easy to get back into a cube (once you have worked out how to do it).

visitor avatar This really is extremely addictive - but be careful not to lose your magnets! If you're not careful they can stick to things and you have no idea where they went. I purchased replacement magnets from an auction site after I lost a few of mine.

visitor avatar This is a very addictive, awesome, satisfying little toy. The other reviews say its impossible to get back together again, this is not true but it does require a bit of a knack. As the description says though there is no right way to solve this, and plenty of patterns and shapes to make. The perfect little executive thinkers toy!

visitor avatar I bought my boyfriend one of these for christmas, unfortunately it got lost somewhere along the way, I contacted royal mail who were the most unhelpful people ever, so I emailed firebox to find out what to do and was instantly sent a new one which arrived in a few days! (thank you!!) Was a bit unsure of the price at first but it seems well worth it now, he loves it, only downside is I have no chance of any conversation from him once he starts playing! and btw, it is possible to get it back into a cube, you just need a lot of patience!!
Hayley Ferguson, Coventry - Jan '10
visitor avatar These are good and loads of fun, spend hours playing with them. . However I lost a ball and cant make the cube properly anymore :( any chance of selling spares?)

visitor avatar While I do really love this I'm not sure how good of quality the coating on the magnets is, I've only had it a few weeks and can already see them getting worn. As magnets always connect at the poles they are the weak points of the magnet coating. But I still love them, they're additively good fun its just a shame they're wearing so quick.

visitor avatar Very inventive and clever...good stress releaver, but I really would not pay £29. 00 for it! I think this is way over priced.
Susie Bartlett, Coulsdon - Nov '09
visitor avatar Yes, this item is addictive but also very infuriating as the magnets are unbelievably strong. You have to have a lot of patience with these. Also I think they are a bit expensive for what they are. P. S. Don't expect to get them back into a cube once you have broke them apart.
