Huggable 15” dolls

Huggable 15” dolls

A masterpiece of children’s literature, Where the Wild Things Are is a bit like Firebox because it can be enjoyed by kids and infantile adults alike. The same goes for these incredibly huggable 15” dolls.

Where the Wild Things Are Soft Toys are just as surreal, imaginative and downright weird as the characters in the award-winning book, only this time you can hug and squeeze them. Choose from Bernard, Moishe Sipi and Max (the wolf-costume clad hero of the story).

Confused? You will be if you’re unfamiliar with Maurice Sendak’s legendary 1963 picture book, but seeing as it’s now a major live action movie directed by Spike Jonze, you’ll soon find out. If you can’t wait, allow us to explain…

Where the Wild Things Are tells the story of Max, a boy who is sent to his room for chasing the dog with a fork. As you do. Before you can say ‘I wonder what the author was on?’ Max’s imagination runs riot and he journeys to the enchanting land of the fearsome Wild Things. We won’t spoil the plot, suffice to say events turn rather surreal. Indeed this charming tale makes Alice in Wonderland look like an episode of Newsnight.

Bernard, Max, Moishe and Sipi

L to R - Bernard, Max, Moishe and Sipi

Just as enchanting as the original illustrations upon which they are based, these endearing dolls are all set to introduce this wonderful short story to a whole new generation of fans, film or no film. So why not set sail towards your very own ‘wild rumpus’ and get ordering. But hurry, Where the Wild Things Are is going to be monster huge. Like the movie says, there’s one in all of us. Grawww!

visitor avatar I got Max and Tzippy (Sipi) today for Christmas. They are seriously awesome and way bigger than I thought they would be. Love how they look more like the wild things in the book than film. With original names! I need Moishe now though. Please come back in stock :).
Louise Forshaw, Tyne And Wear - 25th December 2011
visitor avatar Bernard and Max arrived to both my sons total delight. They are 'Wild things' mad and couldn't believe they now had their own. Brilliant quality, so cuddly and so true to the illustrations form the book. GREAT!
Katie, Dorking - 29th October 2010
visitor avatar @Matt - Moishe IS Carol - the names here are Sendak's own names (though they, of course, never actually appear in the book), not the movie names. I had a Moishe cuddly exactly like this one when I was little - actually, I might still have him - I'll have to have a look. Tempted to buy another set if not....

visitor avatar My Boyfriend (who is 29) LOVES all things "Wild Things" and I bought him Max for Christmas. Granted, they are pretty pricey but he was so chuffed with Max I didn't feel robbed! Worth every penny as they are quite collectible and I haven't found them elsewhere. Definitely for the hardcore, nostalgic fans of Sendak's magical book!
Deborah, Hull - 5th January 2010
visitor avatar I purchased max to send to my great nephew for christmas. I was very dissapointed, thought it was very tacky and not worth the money.
Janet, Uk - 4th December 2009
Firebox says: Sorry to hear that Janet! If you'd like to return it just drop us a line on info@firebox.com.
visitor avatar All cute as a button! Shame there's no Carol though, never enough love for Gandolfini! Where The Wild Things Are ... certainly too cool for kids, god bless the mighty Jonze! Whats next, Kaufman tackling Pingo? We can only wish!
