Shake and Wake Alarm Clock
Don’t be alarmed, be vibrated
Wear it on your wrist...
As its name (sort of) suggests, this lightweight wearable alarm clock wakes you up by vibrating. Simply strap it on your wrist or shove it under your pillow. Genius! You’ll never oversleep again. And unless you start each day with an ear-splitting burp, yawn or worse, your partner will be laughing (or should we say sleeping).
...Or place it under your pillow
Unlike rival vibrating alarm clocks, the Shake and Wake is wire-free, so you won’t wake up chewing a spaghetti of cables, having spent the night dreaming about a Lady and the Tramp style dining experience with your favourite member of Girls Aloud. Shame.
Backlit LED display
Speaking of irony, the Shake and Wake even features an optional beeping alarm for comatose clowns who need all the help they can get in the morning. But if you’re really that feckless, we recommend you simply wait for mummy to wake you up with a nice cup of tea.

Shakes your arm to wake you up, as good as any mother could! Great for when you are away from home and sadly can't take mum with you! The clock also stores the current date, has a nice glow button so you can check the time in the middle of the night, and has a timer function. Lovely.

This in theory, is a brill idea. In practice however, it fails to deliver. I bought it because I cannot get up in the morning and I quite liked the idea of having this clock on my wrist and waking up in a way that doesn't involve 10 alarm clocks blasting out. So I bought this. However, if like me you sleep either with your hand under your pillow, or curled up, it's simply too bulky and big! It isn't something that you can put on and not notice. It is also a bit low-tech looking. Good value for money? No, not really.Pen, Sheffield - 17th October 2011

I've always struggled to find an alarm to wake me as I'm hearing impaired (pretty bad :( ), but this is a life saver. Just pop it under my pillow, and guaranteed to wake me up every morning with the vibration. Also I've used this alarm everyday for 6 months and I haven't changed the battery once. Thanks firebox for making sure I make it to work on time every morning (unless I hit the snooze button lol).Tom, South Yorkshire - 8th December 2010
I'm stuck, I wanna get my bf that pillow that has the iPod linked to it. But I like this as well, my bf is very hard to wake up in the mornings but I dunno if they do the same thing if he sets his alarm on his iPod and it goes off in the pillow will that wake him up better than the wrist alarm?Claire, Essex - 20th November 2010
Firebox says: Why not test it out?! One day, try waking him by shaking, and the next, by playing music at him! See which works best! I'm sure he'll love you for it. Science!
Hello, can u tell me how to change the days on this? I can't seem to get it to go off as a normal alarm!
Libby, Leicester - 11th June 2010
Firebox says: If the alarm keeps going off every hour on the hour you can hold the 'Time Set' button down and press 'Mode' again to let the 'SU MO TU WE TH FR SR' disappear, then the On-The-Hour alarm is OFF.
Ever had a good nights sleep with a carriage clock strapped to your arm? Thought not. Neither did I with this pointless contraption. Yes it vibrates to wake you without disturbing others (if you haven't moved the switch on the front to chime, or worse still to half way between chime and vibrate rendering the alarm silent). A dod of superglue put that right and I persevered with wearing a brick in bed only for the hourly alert (not mentioned in the instructions) to activate its self. It's just enough of a vibrate to drag you out of deep sleep without actually waking you up and it was a few bad nights sleep before I realised what was happening. I threw it in the bin! So if like me your ears are failing and you need to get up early without disturbing the wife, go to the RNID website and buy a vibrating watch. That's what I did.... . Firebox says: Oh dear, the Shake-n-Wake really didn't agree with you. Please see our comments to Paul King on how to stop the hourly alert, although I'm guessing this product really isn't for you. Drop us an email at info@firebox.com and we advise you on how to return it.
I'm in love, I'm going traveling at the end of this year and staying in hostels and anyone who has stayed in a hostel will know you feel like killing the person who has there alarm going at 7am when you have been partying till 3am. Now I don't have to worry (another use; put it on your ankle and look like you have been tagged, no one will mess with you!).Kim, Wales - 13th April 2010
Impossible to wear comfortably on your wrist - unless you have wrists the size of tree-trunks. Also the the "shake" is pretty tame.Del Forsdyke, UK - 19th March 2010
The clock is essentially a good idea however there is a design problem. I can't find a way to turn off the hourly beep/vibrate this tends to keep you & anyone else in the room awake all night so you won't miss your alarm anyway.Paul King, Hlaifax UK - 26th December 2009
Firebox says: You can turn off the hourly alarm by holding the \"Time Set\" and press \"Mode\" again to let the \"SU MO TU WE TH FR SR\" disappear, then the On-The-Hour alarm is OFF(This can be done again to turn the hourly alarm on).
Got this to wake me up for morning lectures because my phone decides to abort important alarms I set on it! Arrived today, tested it out while taking a nap. Works like a charm! Thanks Firebox!Arun, Uni. Essex - 22nd October 2009
