Choro Robo Q
Rise of the (3.4cm) robots!
Sorry, this product is not available.
Cute little ‘bots
Hailing from Japan (where else?) and said to be the smallest walking robots in the world, Robo-Qs are just 3.4cm tall. But don’t let their mind-boggling lack of heft put you off because they are capable of receiving and interpreting commands from a nifty R/C controller that doubles up as a charging unit. They even fit inside said controller for easy storage. Bleeping Nora!
Chase and move the football
Take full command of your widdly wonder via the remote
If you’re more of a control freak, you can take full command of your widdly wonder via the remote. Turn left, right and watch in awe as Robo-Q walks at three different speeds. It’s like peering into the future, only you won’t have to wear a white Lycra jumpsuit that accentuates your wobbly bits.
Avoid obstacles
Easy to charge
Yes, you can buy bigger R/C robots with more AI crammed into their circuits, but you can’t stuff them in your pocket when the boss walks in, or make them waddle around in the palm of your hand. Now that’s progress!

I bought this from Firebox a month ago and haven't stopped playing with it since, I built a race track for it out of Jenga bricks. A race track isn't much fun with one racer so I was wondering if I bought a ChoroQ Tamiya Avante car, would I be able to choose a different frequency?Calvin, Cornwall - 10th November 2010
Firebox says: I'm afraid not - the ones we used to stock are all on the same frequency, so you can't race them. Also we no longer stock this product I'm afraid.
Arrived today, disappointing :( charge doesn't last long, automated setting don't seem to work. Pull to the right and just goes in a circle.Gemma, Somerset - 8th November 2010
Firebox says: Sounds like you have a faulty unit. Please email us via info@firebox.com with your order details and we'll try to resolve this for you.
I had been toying with buying one of the small RC helicopters until Robo-Q (or as I call mine, Pepe) appeared. He's great!! Full of fun and seems to have a mind of his own. He keeps wanting to play with his ball and I don't want to upset him by taking it away from him. I am setting up a course for him to tax his brain, but I am sure hill will get round it with flying colours. I'm sure he's looking at me with a smile on his face. Got to go, he wants to play with his ball again.

I got one of these (not from here), but they are extremely sensitive; The smallness of the mechanisms mean that even a tiny flaw in any part immobilises the robot. Mine could only do clockwise circles...
There is also a "self charging" process: If the control is left on the table horizontally, then the robot can detect where the charging area is by using infa red. Very cool, but, again didnt work for me. Then again, that might have been because of the dodgy movement....Hipporhinostricow, London - 4th December 2009

I love these mini robots! I moved to Hong Kong a few months ago, and found a Transformers version of Robo-Q in a Japanese shop, and haven't been able to stop playing with it since! Firebox - highly recommend you try and track this version down for your site!Luke, Hong Kong - 1st December 2009
