An image of the Humunga Stache on its own

Rubber ball with a moulded moustache attached

There have been many famous moustache wearers over the years, from Fu Manchu and Freddie Mercury to Hulk Hogan and those annoying directory enquiry blokes. But there haven’t been many dogs. Until now, because the utterly ridiculous Humunga Stache is set to propel your bow wow into the upper echelons of moustache superstardom!

Clearly the result of an explosion in an idiot factory, this crazy fetch toy is brought to you by the loons behind the similarly preposterous Humunga Tongue. The difference is it’s shaped like a giant comedy moustache.

As if you needed an explanation, the Humunga Stache is actually a non-toxic rubber ball with a ‘tache section moulded on to it. When pooch picks up the ball the moustache bit sticks out so that he/she immediately resembles a Victorian gent/Wild West outlaw/member of the Village People. With fur, paws and a shiny nose. It’s totally barking.

Whether you’re playing fetch in the park or attempting to go indognito down the high street, your four-legged friend will never tire of causing consternation amongst sniggering onlookers.

Indeed, any dog sporting this rubbery blob of facial topiary is guaranteed to attract attention from the slobbering yaparazzi. The opportunities for taking daft photos are endless. You can even give your dog a suitably tache-tastic nickname: Salvador Doggie, Bark Twain, Wyatt Slurp – the possibilities are truly, erm, limited.

A brilliant gift for dogs (and owners) with a good sense of humour, the Humunga Stache is the funniest dog toy we’ve seen since… well, since the Humunga Tongue. So don’t just sit there playing dead, get lively and hit the Buy button. Woof!

visitor avatar Really disappointing. The item was too bulky and heavy so even for a medium-sized dog (labrador) she wouldn't hold it in her mouth without tilting it downwards which completely defeated the object. Not once could we get her to hold it properly so we could get a photo and it was completely chewed up and destroyed less than 30 mins later. Waste of money.
Hannah, Essex - 3rd January 2012
Firebox says: Hi Hannah, Im really sorry to hear that! feel free to give us a shout on info@firebox.com and we can see what we can do!
visitor avatar I was just wondering? would this be too big for a Dachshund (sausage dog)?
Benjamin Tilbury, Surrey - 30th November 2011
Firebox says: Hi Benjamin, the smaller the dog the funnier the moustache! The rubber ball part that the dog holds in its mouth is a little bit smaller than a tennis ball, so if your dog can get a tennis ball in its mouth, this should be fine.
visitor avatar What can I say, I am usually such a fan of Firebox products but the Humunga Stache was rather disappointing I'm afraid. Perhaps it's only suited to certain breeds of dog but it failed to have the desired comedy effect on my Golden Retriever and I believe this is down to a design flaw in the product. When he holds it in his mouth it tilts downwards so you can't see the 'tache part properly. It seems the 'ball' might be fixed a little too high? The only positive is that my dog loves it as a fetch toy - however I may as well have bought a cheaper rubber toy!
Diane, Woking - 25th July 2011
Firebox says: Sorry to hear that Diane, maybe we can look into a better product description.
visitor avatar It looks good though dogs may not want to hold the ball on the end they may want to hold the other bit. In which case it would not work.
Annabel, Devon - 18th July 2011
visitor avatar Does the dog in the picture come with this item? If not, can he be supplied?
Matt, Cumbernauld - 13th February 2011
Firebox says: Sadly not Matt, he's retired. All that fame and glory has worn him out.
visitor avatar Absolutely love this toy - its hilarious and feels very tough / robust - can't wait to take pics of my pooches sporting the Humunga Stache - 100% better than the ones in Christmas Crackers hehehehe xxx.
Suzie T, Yorkshire - 15th September 2010
visitor avatar Funny, but doesn't really 'work' with giant dogs like my sister's English Mastiff.
Nick, Tampa, USA - 12th March 2010
visitor avatar I bought this for my dog Boomer for Christmas but he sensed it was in the house and kept nudging me towards the box I had hidden it in so decided to give it to him early. He wont pose properly with it (the ball part is too big for him to hold at the front of his mouth; Boomer is a rescue who had his jaw broken by a previous owner and so struggles with certain things) but does enjoy drooling all over it. It is quite tough so I think it will stand up to regular collie play. My other dog Gino is now jealous, though, so I think I will have to buy another....
Helen, Cardiff - 19th November 2009
visitor avatar I've bought this for my basset hound Frank for Christmas, quite large but that wont stop him! Looks great and I just hope and wish that come Christmas it will give me as much of a giggle as I hoped for. Nice one Firebox.
Emma, Coventry - 18th November 2009
visitor avatar Well i've 'ummmed n 'arrred about getting a dog and if this isn't an excuse to get one-WHAT IS???? Pet comedy at it's finest :-) :-0 :-).
