USB Ninja

Ninja's backup

What do ninjas, owls, penguins, spacemen and reindeer all have in common? We’ve no idea, but for some reason barmy boffins have decided to fashion all of the above into a range of funky memory sticks.

Impossibly cute, USB Flash Heroes are disguised as various crazy characters. Why? We’re not entirely sure but backing up data on a comedy penguin is infinitely cooler than bunging it on some nondescript rectangle.

Available in 2GB and 4GB versions, each take-anywhere oojamiflip is fashioned from tactile, water resistant silicone. And although we don’t recommend chucking yours in the bath, a few raindrops shouldn’t do any harm. They even feature little holes so you can attach ‘em to keyrings, handbags and…er, nose rings.

Available in Black, Grey and Light Grey

Penguin (2GB or 4GB), Reindeer (4GB), Ninja (4GB), Spaceman (4GB), Owl (4GB)

Unlike many novelty USB sticks, you won’t lose the protective cap of your new best friend because the sciencey metal bit is revealed by flipping the head back, Pez dispenser style. Indeed, popping things in your port has never been so entertaining!

Press Reviews...

press review "It takes a bit of novelty to make a USB flash drive interesting, but these waterproof, character-shaped ones have got it licked. We'd take the ninja hands down, but there are also four others to choose from, each with a 4gb memory."
Max Power - Nov '10

visitor avatar Can someone tell me what an 'oojamiflip' is? I'd like to add it to my vocabulary and need to know what this unbelievably awesome word means. Oojamiflip. :).
Jessica Savage, Cheltenham - 27th May 2011
visitor avatar Are they all waterproof? I have the Penguin one but don't want to run the risk of trying it out.
Pete Smith, Manchester - 5th April 2011
Firebox says: Unfortunately not Pete, the top half of each figure serves as a cover, but the seal isn't sufficient for waterproofing.
visitor avatar On the website of the makers of these cute little USB sticks I've seen a dragon version, just wondering if you stock them or if you could start selling them?
Sarah, West Yorkshire - 21st March 2011
Firebox says: Not at the moment Sarah, although our Buying team are always on the lookout.
visitor avatar OMG! I accidentally washed the ninja and dried it and didn't realise until I went to do my work and panicked! BUUUUT it had survived! All my work was safe and still usable! That's some serious waterproofing! :D best USB stick ever!
Liz, Liverpool - 13th March 2011
visitor avatar Bought the ninja and its totally awesome...but who the heck sticks magnets on a usb pen. Isn't that like dangerous to whatever your inserting the thing into.... Lucky enough I managed to squeeze them out... but still....
Jade, Middlesbrough - 14th February 2011
visitor avatar Got the Ninja one for Christmas off the folks. T'is a really good product and is so much better than a boring plastic oblong shaped 'normal' USB stick. I would recommend it to everyone!
Ben, Stoke-on-Trent - 27th December 2010
visitor avatar Just got a TV which you can pause&record shows via a USB port. Can these be used for this?
Callum, Kent - 27th December 2010
Firebox says: It's untested, but we don't think so.
visitor avatar I got the 4Gig Ninja as I had not seen this one anywhere else. USB memory sticks are vital in this day and age to anyone who uses a computer, but most of them are rather boring to look at. Now we have USB sticks that are fun to look at and use. I will have to purchase some more. I will probably end up with my own Ninja army!!!!!
Tim Vanns, Watford - 10th December 2010
visitor avatar I recently bought the 4gb ninja and I LOVE IT!!! I was happy to learn that the hands of the ninja were magnetic!!! Even if you don't need a USB still get it because it's brilliant! But I want to know, is it waterproof??
Sam Andrews, Pontypridd - 5th December 2010
Firebox says: Glad you like it Sam. They aren't waterproof, sorry.
visitor avatar I have had my owl memory stick for two or three weeks now. I love it. But the ear ripped and now I can't tie it to anything, so it will probably get lost :( Weak Design?
