The Striker LED Mine Torch attached to as server by its magnets lighting up the area

Magnetic - stick it to your machine while you work!

Directing a beam of light in just the right place is pretty easy when you’ve got a spare hand. Unfortunately most DIY jobs require both hands, so unless you’re an octopus fiddling about in dimly lit recesses can be a nightmare. That’s why you need a Striker LED Mine Torch.

Smaller than a golf ball, this surprisingly powerful torch is titchy enough to fit into almost any tight area, pockets included. So far, so what? Well here’s the clever bit: the Striker Mine’s tough ABS body is dotted with 12 rare earth (neodymium) magnets, allowing you to stick it on metal surfaces and aim its intensely bright, wide-angle LED beam at almost any angle. It’s brilliant. Literally.

Perfect for mechanics, plumbers, electricians and nocturnal DIY enthusiasts, this keyring-friendly gizmo is all set to become your new best friend as it will shed light on fiddly work areas without taking up precious space. Use it when tinkering under the bonnet, wiring up your TV, fixing stuff under the sink, messing about in your tent – the possibilities are endless. It will even pick up stray bolts, nails and screws.

Holding the Striker LED Mine Torch

Small but powerful

If you don’t fancy popping the Striker on your keyring, why not bung it on the fridge or filing cabinet, making it your to-go torch for any scenario. It might be small but it makes regular torches seem seriously dull.

You might think we’re making a bit of a song and dance about what is essentially a small magnetic torch, but this ingenious gadget is so handy you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it. Best of all (if you are as childish as we are), the Striker looks incredibly cool in a thermal detonator kind of way, so you’ll be unable to stop fiddling with it. Sheer brilliance!

Press Reviews...

press review "Perfect for hands-on mechanics out there, the LED Mine Torch allows you to shed light on those annoyingly inaccessible jobs. Its tough ABS body is dotted with 12 strong magnets, meaning you can stick it to any metal surface and aim its brilliant LED beam at almost any angle. A fun novelty choice!"

press review "Four stars. Searingly bright, magnetic torch clings to metal for handsfree illumination."
Flipside - Nov '10
press review Surprisingly powerfully, the torch us small enough to fit into even the tightest of areas, letting you keep both hands free to work with. Best of all – if you’re really just a big kid like most of us here at CCW – the Striker looks really cool in a thermal detonator kind of way, making it a worthwhile purchase for novelty value alone!

Visitor Reviews...

visitor avatar I received this in a Mystery Box and it is awesome. The magnets are strong and the light is super bright. Looking forward to using it on fixing and using my motorbike it will come in really handy.

visitor avatar Truly amazing. I was sick of having to use the light on my phone to see anything in the dark but now I have this! First time I switched it on I nearly blinded myself. Definitely worth getting if you too are bored of having to search for your mobile.

visitor avatar Does this really have Rare Earth Magnets???!!!
James, Marlborough - 23rd December 2009
Firebox says: Yes, they are rare earth (neodymium) magnets!.
visitor avatar I got this in my mystery box, it isn't what I would have wanted but the light is very powerful so i'm sure it will come in handy.

visitor avatar I received this from my "Secret Santa" and it looks really cool. VERY powerful light. Great fun.
Sarah, West Sussex - 19th November 2009
visitor avatar Well the video says it all, but this is indeed a nice gadget to have around specially for cables at the back of Pc’s as its quite dark and poor lighting, The (neodymium) magnets are found quite a lot in modern day living for instance, MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), HDD (Hard Disk Drives) and Servo Motors. Just be sure not to get them near computer components or monitors.
Gareth, Eastbourne - 2nd November 2009
visitor avatar Sexiest mechanic I've ever seen!
