There’s something unfathomably funny about watching a cat go bananas as it chases a fast moving object. Witness Tom and Jerry. Unfortunately most moggies are too busy lazing around looking smug to make roly-polying fools of themselves for your entertainment. And that’s why you need the FroliCat BOLT.
Guaranteed to keep Tiddles (and even Fido) transfixed for hours, this award-winning high-tech device automatically projects random laser patterns around the room. Think of it as a futuristic take on the traditional ball of wool. Pets will be chasing it, pawing it, attacking it and pouncing on it before you can say ‘dignity, what dignity?’ Giving four-legged friends a workout has never been such fun.
Of course the big difference here is that you don’t have to dangle anything around because the stylish, skittle-like FroliCat features an automatic mode. Just place it on a flat surface and it will fire its moggy/doggy-transfixing beam all over the place for 15 minutes before switching off.
If you prefer to torment pusskins in a more hands-on fashion, simply switch to manual mode and create your own laser patterns. You can even adjust FroliCat’s internal mirror so that its beam flits across specific areas. Claw marks on my priceless Chippendale? Not blimmin’ likely!
Battery powered and supremely portable, you can take this ingenious gizmo wherever your cat/dog happens to be lounging. If a dancing laser beam doesn’t wrest them from their aloof lolloping, nothing will. Besides, in tests, eight out of ten owners said that their cats absolutely loved it. The other two were too busy laughing to comment. Meow!

What is the difference between the DART and the BOLT???Josh, N. Ireland - 27th January 2012
Firebox says: Hi Josh, The Darts laser will twist a full rotation (360 degrees) where as the Bolt will move the laser 180 degrees
Our cats adore this toy but unfortunately we had a few problems. The first one we got worked fantastically (we were in hysterics watching them chase it) but after about 10 minutes the laser just stopped working. We tried the advice on here but no use. Rang firebox who were happy to send a new one... second one arrived... after a few goes (and cramp from laughing so hard at the cats) we same problem... rather than the hassle of sending one out AGAIN Firebox were fantastic and gave a refund but we are GUTTED we don't have our frolicat anymore! Defo the product problem and not firebox! Worth the money when it works!Chrissie, Plymouth - 25th January 2012
I brought this as a Christmas present for a friends cat, the laser seems not to work and then when I called to request a replacement, was advised to "bang frolicat on the table and call back if this doesn't work!" Great, not only did I give a useless gift it seems I will now have the hassle of having to find a replacement present AND attempting to fix the broken goods myself!!!! :(.Emma, Staffordshire - 29th December 2011
Firebox says: Hi Emma - we've found a few of them are quite stiff, and can be cured by a quick bang on the table. But if that hasn't worked for you, don't worry - get back in touch and we'll happily replace it for you.
Why is it no longer available? will it be added again later?Tetley, Home - 21st December 2011
Firebox says: Unfortunately we will not receive any more stock of this item as it has been discontinued. We do now have FroliCat DART and FroliCat Twitch available though!
Not much use. The cat is more interested with the fact it's so noisy than the laser. The laser itself is very slow and I can't imagine any cat wanting to play with it.Alexandra Vecerzan, UK - 26th November 2011
Firebox says: Cats are cats Alexandra! Their personalities are so different. I have a FroliCat BOLT and one of my cats loves it, the other couldn't care less! If you really are unhappy with the item then please contact us on 0800 044 5010 or email info@firebox.com
On opening the box I was instantly disappointed by the quality of the unit, (NOT as sleek and stylish as it looks on the site)but still installed the batteries to see what the cats would make of this, referred to the instructions that turned out to be about as useless as the unit itself! What automatic mode? Does nothing but project a tiny stationary light no matter what you do with the on/off switch and the pathetic instructions give you no clues as to how to get it to work properly!!! Rubbish!!! Overall wish I hadn't have bothered as now I've got to go through the trouble of sending it all back!Paul Mulley, Leeds, England - 30th July 2011
Firebox says: Definitely sounds faulty Paul, please email us with your order details and we'll get this sorted asap!
This is a truly awesome product! It makes our cats go crazy. They love it! Every time I turn it on, our cats run towards the sound of the motor as if they know its just been turned on. I would say 15 mins is a tad too long, one of our cats was knackered after around 10 mins - but this was on manual mode, so maybe that was my fault? Either way - yet another great item from Firebox.com!Mark, Milton Keynes - 28th July 2011
Firebox says: Great to hear it Mark!
Maybe I’ve got a duff one but so far very under-impressed.
Needed to put the brand new batteries in and out three times before it started even thinking about automatic mode.
Is very noisy and a bit temperamental – the off button seems to only work when it feels like.
The free laser pointers I got from Go Cat are actually more reliable!Vicki, UK - 20th July 2011
Firebox says: Sorry to hear about the issues Vicki, feel free to get in touch with your order details and we can help resolve this for you.
I definitely think this product is "wow"! Ninji (my kitten) is getting to relaxed to play anymore, but this will virtually change her life! And, on the plus side our new kittens will adore it!Henry Daniels, Chard, Somerset - 16th March 2011
I have two kittens and one 4-year-old cat and they absolutely love this! In addition to their other toys, this keeps them very active and once it's turned off, they still try and find it. They now recognise the sound when I turn it on and come running to find it! I love this =).Liz, Gosport, UK - 21st February 2011
