Hot and steamy!

Mike munches on vegetable chilli
Of course this whole exercise would be completely pointless if the grub was gopping, but HotCan recipes are really rather delish. We’re not talking haute cuisine but they’re certainly up there with your better quality ready meals. What’s more HotCans are suitably calorific and nutritionally balanced, so as well as satisfying all you outdoorsy types, they put sandwiches, Pot Doodahs and rival so-called fast food to shame. Pizza Yuck and Unlucky Fried Deadthing? No thanks.
Cans available (from L-R):Chicken Curry, Vegetable Chilli, Spicy Beef Pasta, Sausages and Beans, Beans with Meatballs

These are actually very good - a bit cheaper on amazon though....Mike, UK - 16th December 2011
The taste is ok, what you would expect really, little too much sauce but I suppose that conducts the heat, oh and the heat!! not good, waited the time, not great. The bottom part was hot, but the rest was barely warmed.Lawrence, Northampton - 18th October 2011
Bought as a gift for a friend who does car booting in the cold! Says the sausage n beans was delish and brilliant idea.

How hot does the outside of the can get?Gordon, United Kingdom - 25th May 2011
Firebox says: It's got a layer on insulation so that you are able to hold it.
The cans are fantastic and the meals are well tasty.
Only downside is the cost. A normal premier 400g can of beans and sausages will cost about a quid, so you are paying around a fiver for the heating gizmo.
At the last festival we were at, we bought 4 plain baked potatoes from a stall and shared a can of beans between us - sorted!Richard Jones, Fareham - 24th May 2011
How many sausages on average are there in the beans and sausage can? Is it a healthy ratio of beans:sausages, or are the sausages completely overwhelmed by the might and mass of the beans?Holly, Surrey - 24th March 2011
Firebox says: It's a healthy balance. The sausages can hold their own against those beans.
Are the HotCans airplane friendly?Greg Ross, East Kilbride, Scotland - 8th March 2011
Firebox says: Greg, it's probably best to check with the airline before packing your HotCan.
Will you be getting any more flavors?Thomas, Andover - 26th January 2011
