Sound Asleep Pillow
Listen and loaf
MP3 player plugs in (not included)
Ideal for headphone haters, telly addicts, insomniacs and anyone who enjoys dozing off to a few gentle Napalm Death lullabies, this wonderfully squishy pillow has a built-in speaker that can only be heard by the layabout with their noggin plonked on it. Simply plug your music source (iPod, radio, TV out) into the pillow’s 3.5mm stereo socket and you’re away. Bedmates will be none the wiser (unless you start singing along and drumming on the mattress).
Memory Foam and Original Sound Asleep Pillows
Whether it’s whale song or Weezer, podcasts or, because we’re bored with alliteration, Little Boots, we think you’ll agree that this pillow sounds amazing. In fact it’s got to be the second greatest reason in the world for going to bed. And we all know what the first is, don’t we? That’s right, eating Hob Nobs.

I am just wondering if the speaker has a stereo 3. 5mm jack (for my FUSSY boyfriend who I bought pillow speaker which turned out to have a mono jack)? And if not, do you know of any similar products that do?
Thanks x.Liz, United Kingdom - 30th January 2012
Firebox says: Hi Liz,
It does come with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, so your fussy boyfriend can relax!
I got my husband the cheaper pillow one year for xmas and then the memory pillow the year after. The cheaper one is the best! The memory foam version is too small and quite hard. Would definitely recommend the cheaper one! Great!!P.MARSH, Surrey - 28th November 2011
I'm not very tech minded, can you plug an i-phone into the pillow?Billy, Glasgow - 8th October 2011
Firebox says: Hi Billy, no worries! Yes you can plug an iPhone into the pillow. In fact you can plug in any mp3 player, cd player, radio that has a standard headphone jack.
My dad bought me one of these for my birthday (same brand but from a different shop) and I have some mixed feelings about it. It's a very comfy pillow, lovely and soft and has a nice snuggly feel to it. The speaker itself is more or less impossible to feel at all, it's like there's nothing in there besides the stuffing, so despite my worries about having a chunk of plastic digging into my head, there was nothing negative on that aspect. The connection is perfect for a CD player (yes, I'm that old-fashioned!) but the speaker itself isn't so great. You have to have your head in exactly the right spot to hear music clearly, but once you turn the volume up to a comfortable level, you can clearly hear it from a few feet away. Great if you want nature sounds, not so good with music.Nikki, Stanley, Co. Durham - 17th August 2011
I had one of these bought for me for x-mas by my sister, had to return it as my partner (a very heavy sleeper) could hear everything were as I had to be in a very specific spot to be able to hear anything clearly let alone at all! I wouldn't recommend one to anyone.Iain, Liverpool - 29th July 2011
My Gummis and Skullcandy earphones work with my phone - the Motorolla milestone - will this? Thanks in advance! (Can't wait to order one if so!).Graeme, Glasgow - 6th July 2011
Firebox says: It sure will Graeme, any product with a 1/4" jack will work!
My fault I know but something to point out. The Memory Foam Standard UK size is not a standard pillow size. So if like me, you thought it was, when you get it, you will be annoyed its tiny compared to a standard& non memory foam pillar size. Pillow cases are massive and need folding over, which then causes an issue with the cable. I should of checked the pillow measurements, my GF has a memory foam pillow and hers is Normal size. Probably going to send mine back. Looks odd as well.Tom, England - 18th March 2011
It was my birthday today and as wished for, my wife bought me on of these pillows. I was overjoyed, finally I could sleep soundly listening to music without annoying her with my tunes. However, to my disgust, once I plugged my IPod into it, she would have heard it in the next room!! The advertisement states 'Listen to your personal sounds, ONLY YOU CAN HEAR'. Bitterly, bitterly disappointed with this item and am hoping for a positive response from Firebox to cheer me up on my birthday,.Jay, Portsmouth - 24th January 2011
Firebox says: Sorry to hear that Jay, it sounds like you could have a faulty item there, if you drop us an e-mail with the order details to info@firebox.com we'll look into ti further for you.
I'd been hinting to my mum for ages that I wanted one of these and I finally got one for Christmas ! Really chuffed with it, the sound isn't too loud or too quiet and stops me from nearly strangling myself like what used to happen with my headphones I used to use in bed. And its lovely and comfy. Love it. Thanks Firebox ! :).Jess, Birmingham - 11th January 2011
Really don't know what everyone is on about. Got one for my girlfriend, she loves it, got one for myself, I love it! ... Very comfy, not a bad speaker at all! Firebox have done it again!Steve, Croydon - 11th January 2011
