The Wand: Watch a swish demo!
Download the manual here
You can assign various functions to various moves: flicks to turn on and off; spins to control volume; big swishes to mute and so on. You’ll be flicking just for the fun of it. Better still, rival wizards will be unable to mess with the telly or digibox unless you show them your moves. Hocus flippin’ pocus!
To add to its supernatural nature, the Wand also features a ‘heartbeat’ in the form of various pulses that confirm gesture recognition and tell you when the batteries are low. It even goes into sleep mode after 60 seconds of inactivity and ‘wakes’ when you pick it up. It’s just like having a real magic wand, only you won’t have to wear a stupid cloak or marry Debbie McGee. Magic!
Comes in a smart presentation box

Wow, a gun remote, now this. Wow all we need now is a lightsaber one :).Sam Morris, Upton Wirral - Nov '09
I got one for my 18th birthday, and now my parents get no rest from TV channels changing and the TV 'mysteriously' turning off during the football. Very easy to pick up the little movements, and a bit of effort put into learning the harder ones. But you feel powerful once you've mastered it. Truly awesome.Sarah Murdoch-Smith, North Baddeslely - Nov '09
Can you really switch off lights with the wand? Or is there only certain lights you can switch on and off with the wand?Alex, Wirral - Nov '09
I purchased this fun gadget recently from firebox as it sounded like great fun, even though I was slightly apprehensive about how accurately it would read my gestures as I have a wii console and know that motion sensing isnt always that reliable. However I am pleased to report that after practising using the wand for about half an hour I now have about a 95% success rate with it recognising my gestures and transforming them into changes in volume, channels e. T. C. It is also dead simple to program and after an hour, using the wand has become as natural as using a standard remote control. All in all this is another firebox purchase that I am delighted with. Great for children and the child within older children like me (37yrs!!!).Simon Turk, Tonbridge Kent - Nov '09
And also, does it control light switches and stuff like that like on the videos on youtube.Oliver, Derbyshire - Nov '09

It looks wicked im thinking of buying one but I might wait im thinking it might come down in price.Scott, Chester - Oct '09
It looks fantastic, especially - and I know this is not the market you were thinking of - for those of us with difficulty using our hands/fingers. Can it only control one gadget, or could the various commands be assigned to different things e.g. a TV and a CD Player?Sara Rosen, West Sussex - Oct '09
Looks really cool, though does this work with Sky?Wayne, Somerset - Oct '09
