Mini Shopping Trolley Desk Tidy on office desk
Even if Dale Winton’s not urging you to go ‘wild in the aisles’ there is something strangely entertaining about pushing a trolley around a supermarket. Yes they can be annoying with their dodgy wheels and incomprehensible pound slots, but all that is forgiven the second you lean on the handle and whee your way past the canned goods section. Cashier number one please!

For this reason we have decided to pay tribute to the humble shopping trolley with a miniaturised replica that doubles up as a desk tidy. At under a tenner it’s a real manager’s special.

Crafted in sturdy metal with rolling wheels and a working child seat, this neat little gizmo can be stuffed with pens, pencils, Post-its and jumbo packs of loo roll*. You can even dump it miles away from your desk, asbo-style, having ridden it around the town centre after a night on the tiles.

A quirky and original addition to any workspace, the Mini Shopping Trolley is ideal for busy-doing-nothing executives who dream of days spent wandering the aisles in search of frozen peas and scouring powder. ‘Hmm, I’ll have a couple of biros and some staples.’ You get the idea.

Indeed, you can have minutes of fun fiddling with this cute little cart as you ponder two for one offers on your latest multi-million pound takeover bid. Failing that, cringe as you remember the time you asked your mum for some chocolate coins only to find she’d walked off and you were talking to a complete stranger. Last week.

Perfect for the shopaholic with everything, the Mini Shopping Trolley is a curiously diverting gizmo, especially when you are sitting at your desk wondering where it all went wrong. You can almost hear the malfunctioning self checkouts the second you glance at it. ‘Unexpected item in the bagging area…unexpected item in the…’ Aargh!

*Not really.

visitor avatar What size is this amazing little toy?

Firebox says: The dimensions are: 12cm (L) x 9.5cm (W) x 14.5cm (H)
visitor avatar My girlfriend bought one each for several friends at Christmas, filled them with sweets. Everyone loved them, even if they weren't sure what to do with them! Oh, and they park inside each other like the full-size things, so you'll be tempted to get more than one.

visitor avatar So cute! Love the fact that the wheels actually work.

visitor avatar I bought this for my office Secret Santa. It's good, and fun, but it's not quite what I expected. It doesn't come in a box (don't know why I thought it would), and the attached label doesn't identify it as a desk tidy, so it's not immediately obvious what it is if the other person isn't expecting a desk tidy! I had to write it onto the label, which looked a bit naff. But it's well built, and nicely presented.
