Wrap the money round the clip

Attach your rolled up notes to the CashClip

Running out of money sucks. Just ask an Icelandic banker. More realistically, ask anyone who’s woken up in a taxi minus their wallet. Failing that, ask anyone whose card has been eaten by the cashpoint, or anyone who’s underestimated the price of that final round. We’ve all been there. And that’s why we all need the Cash Stash Keychain.

Simple but ludicrously smart, this unobtrusive little keyring-friendly doodah has been created to store emergency funds. Simply unscrew the capsule, wrap your note(s) around its internal stainless steel CashClip and hey presto – a secret stash of emergency cash. Assuming you don’t lose your keys you’ll never get caught short again.

Pink and Black versions now available

Yes, we suppose you could stuff a score in your sock or shove a tenner where the sun don’t shine, but the Cash Stash Keychain is so much more convenient, not to mention hygienic. Plus we doubt your underwear is made of aircraft grade aluminium. And unless you’re reading this from the care home, it’s probably not waterproof either. Thankfully this sturdy little life-saver is both, so next time you fall into the sea from 39,000ft you’ll be able to buy your rescuers some nuts to go with their shandy.

At under a fiver, the inexplicably inexpensive Cash Stash (try saying that with a bellyload of beer and a pocketful of lint) is one of the greatest investments you’re ever likely to make. What’s more it makes a stonking gift, especially if you pop a bit of cash inside. If that’s too much of a stretch you can always shove in an IOU. Or a note explaining that you’re tighter than two coats of paint. Or a receipt for £4.99. Result!

visitor avatar 5 stars!, my Dad (who actually designed this!) Always forgets his wallet and has to borrow what little money I have, but now he has this when he asks me I just remind him he has this!!!

Firebox says: Your Dad outdid himself with this one Hectior!
visitor avatar Great product to get. My brother has got 2 Fifty Pound notes in it. You just got to wrap them real tight an small and don't use the inner thing.
Kash, Birmingham - 12th July 2011
visitor avatar Like many others, I love the product, but it did unscrew and I lost the bottom, along with a £20 note inside :( So make sure you are very careful, because I hardly ever opened it (for emergencies only), and always made sure it was tight, but unfortunately it can still happen. Really want another one. .
Lewis U, London - 8th June 2011
visitor avatar Does anyone know if this is actually fully waterproof? I know it has the water tight ring but does that mean you can fully put it in water (like taking in the sea) and it not leak? Thanks.
Emma, Plymouth - 1st June 2011
visitor avatar Capsule came undone and I lost the bottom - luckily had no money in it at the time.
Michelle, Surrey - 28th May 2011
visitor avatar What are the chances of getting euro notes in one of these? Fitting a 500 euro note in would pay for your flight back home from just about anywhere on earth. (I think that's the largest money amount available).
Andy, UK - 15th May 2011
visitor avatar Fabulous little keyring! Took a while to get the hang of rolling the money in but once you've got the hang of it it's perfect!
Amy, Stratford - 6th May 2011
visitor avatar Useless. No matter how hard I try, I can't fit a single £20 note in and screw the cap on afterwards. It's just too small. One attempt lodged it so tightly it took me 45 minutes to get the note back out. Just a tiny bit more room would have made the world of difference, but as it stands, this is worthless.
Jim, Sutton Coldfield - 2nd May 2011
Firebox says: Sorry to hear about the trouble Jim, by all means get onto us via info@firebox.com and we can look at resolving this for you.
visitor avatar Great little things, I've got 4 of them now, one each for my parents & 2 for me: one for the car, one for the motorbike. Yes, it's a tad fiddly to get the folding & rolling right, but once you've got the knack it's easy & you're never without money for fuel.
Warren Gill, Guildford - 30th April 2011
visitor avatar Brilliant little gadget, recently went to a busy DIY store, queued for 10mins got to the checkout and found I'd left my wallet at home! Had my CashStash on my car keys, so no embarrassment at not having payment and no wasted return visit to the store to buy my stuff. It probably saved me more in fuel than I paid for the CashStash !
