Linnéa reads about Mr Darcy

Linnéa reads about Mr Darcy

Although Pride and Prejudice is a bodice-ripping literary classic, we’ve always felt it lacked something. Yep, you’ve guessed it – zombies. But now, thanks to author Seth Grahame-Smith, the living dead have invaded this delightful comedy of manners to splatter some much needed gore across its genteel pages.

Complete with 20 illustrations

Remove the head or destroy the brain

Beware of this book because Grahame-Smith has skilfully altered Jane Austen's original text to accommodate brand new scenes of bone-crunching cannibalism, brain-munching carnage and artery-slashing mayhem. The improvement is hilariously compelling!

Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice), this insanely daft expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen's classic novel to new legions of fans. Maybe.

As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton, and the dead are returning to life. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr Darcy.

You've got red on you

What ensues is an enchanting romantic romp interlaced with ultra-violent skull smashing, as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of mindless flesh-eaters. ‘When Elizabeth stood, she saw Mrs Long struggle to free herself as two female dreadfuls bit into her head, cracking her skull like a walnut, and sending a shower of dark blood spouting as high as the chandeliers.’ Brilliant, eh! And we haven’t even mentioned the Bennet girls’ Pentagram of Death or the introduction of a few pirates.

Braaaains...

With Hollywood fighting over the movie rights to this madcap mash up (Natalie Portman to star and Richard Kelly of Donnie Darko fame to direct apparently), now is the time to get ahead of the game and read what is bound to become a cult classic. ‘Why Mr Darcy, what rotten flesh you have.’ Aargh!!!!

An amazing book! A new, more accessible way to enjoy classic books. It makes understanding the language of the time more enjoyable and the story keeps you coming back for more.

This book could actually have been written by Jane Austen if she was 1000 times more awesome. I have loved Pride & Prejudice for years and years, this book does it justice and its much more entertaining. I'm gonna go read it again now, and I cannot wait for the film.

My hubby has been wanting this book for ages and I finally got it for him and within five minutes he was laughing his head off. When he told me what he was laughing at I started laughing straight away. Absolutely hilarious.

Another book by this publisher is called 'Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters'. Will you be selling this soon?

A fantastic book, this should be used in schools in place of the original. I loved reading it and everyone at work is queuing up to borrow it, some are the older generation who you'd think would hate it. This books has it all, a comedy of manners with some good ol' martial arts, ninjas and zombies. BRING ON THE MOVIE!!!
