Football Cocktail Shaker

Yes, we know American football is a girly version of rugby, played by behelmeted nancy boys. And yes, we know each game takes about six years to complete. But when we saw this cocktail shaker shaped like an American football we decided to put our prejudices aside and, well, play ball.

Why? Because any ball that puts a new spin on the term ‘drinking game’ is just dandy in our book. Okay, so it’s not really a ball in the round and kickable sense, but you won’t care about that when you’re chucking the Football Cocktail Shaker around in order to mix a drink. And seeing as the ball is foam-insulated, it really is chuckable. It can even withstand the occasional fumble and interception.

All you do is fill the watertight inner chamber with your favourite mixers and chuck in some crushed ice. Then screw the two halves together via a nifty interlocking mechanism and get throwing. You can even yell ‘hut hut hut!’ and similarly comical gobbledegook as you hurl your booze-fuelled prolate spheroid towards your wide receiver. Well, towards your bewildered mates.

After a few throws your drink will be perfectly mixed. Simply open the ball, pour and enjoy. Performing an idiotic touchdown celebration is entirely optional. Coercing female guests into Janet Jackson-style half-time wardrobe malfunctions is obligatory. (Well, we gave it a go).

Ideal for sports fans and anyone who enjoys amusingly mixed drinks, the Football Cocktail Shaker is all set to fly out of our humungous quarterback’s mitts faster than a Dan Marino pass. Every outdoor do should have one. Indeed, if there’s a more entertaining way to mix cocktails (without getting arrested or removing your pants) we’ve yet to see it. Touchdown!
