Using the BluePack Back-up Battery on the train

Power up on-the-go!

Drat! Your shiny new iPhone has just run out of juice. And you’re squashed on the 7.15 from Paddington. But don’t start gargling Oops, I Did It Again with lukewarm latte in a fit of infantile frustration. Just pull out your BluePack.

This stylish pocket-sized battery pack has been specifically designed for use with iPods and iPhones, and it’s the ideal back-up power solution for all you roving iAddicts who haven’t got time to stop and recharge.

Charging up an iPod using the BluePack iPhone/iPod Back-up Battery

Charges up iPods too!

Finished in glossy black metal, the ultra-thin BluePack incorporates a rechargeable Li-ion polymer battery that can give up to 250 hours extra standby time, up to 3.5 hours talktime or up to 36 hours audio playback time. Wow! You’ll never run out of juice again.

Just think, armed with this powerful yet lightweight peripheral you can go about your business without having to scrimp on battery-munching features such as push email and video playback. You’ll wonder how you ever coped without it.

The iPods that are compatible with the BluePack iPhone/iPod Back-up Battery

As thin as your iPhone/iPod!

Charging up the BluePack and iPod via computer

Plug into a USB port to charge

Charging the BluePack is a doddle. Simply pop out its retractable USB cable and plug it into your computer. If you’re really geeky you can shove it in the mains using our USB Mains Charger. But don’t click on that hyperlink just yet because we’re not done telling you about this soon-to-be indispensable accessory.

Connecting the iPhone via the dock

iPhone/iPod docks straight on!

Attaching the BluePack to your iGizmo is easier than pulling your pants down. In fact it’s considerably easier because there are no wires and there’s no chance of sticking your foot through that hole where your dinkle’s supposed to go*; it plugs directly in as if it were a docking station. Genius!

If you’re serious about your iPod/iPhone you should seriously consider buying a BluePack pronto. If not, best get ready with the lukewarm latte and Britney tunes. Repeat after us: i have the power!

*Although this childish analogy is clearly aimed at men, the BluePack is also suitable for female use.

Charge time for powering up your iPhone battery:
  • If you wish to work out how long it takes a battery to charge your device you need two bits of information. Firstly the capacity of your device, in the example of the iPhone 3G the battery is 1150 mAh. The second bit of information is the output from your battery charger, the BluePack has an output of 500 mAh. Then all you need to do is divide one by the other: 1150mAh/500mAh = 2.3 hours. Therefore from a completely exhausted iPhone battery it takes 2 hours 18 minutes to fully charge using the BluePack, obviously you don't need a full charge on the battery to make a phone call and you can use the device as the battery is charging. USB drives on the computers usually output at 500mAh as well. Our USB Mains Charger outputs at 550 mAh.

visitor avatar Is this product able to work on the new iPhone 3GS? I am sure the 3GS and 3G have the same jacks etc.. I just wanted to be sure.
Lauren Bond, Merseyside - Jul '09
Firebox says: Great news! The BluePack for iPhone Charger is compatible with the new iPhone 3GS.

visitor avatar Well I have got an ipod touch and I have had one of these batteries. . And I can safely say it does cover headphone jack point.
Terry Fayers, Ipswich - Jun '09
Firebox says: Sorry terry, our mistake. Yes, it would block the socket for the headphones on the iPod Touch (we were under the impression that the layout of the Touch & iPhone were the same - they're not!).

visitor avatar This product is good for charging ipod touch, but if you want to use as a battery when ipod is dead not so good as it covers the headphone socket.
Terry Fayers, Ipswich - Jun '09
Firebox says: The headphone socket is on the top of iPod's we believe, so it shouldn't interfere with that.
