Bilibo

Bilibo is anything kids want
it to be

We all know kids enjoy playing with boxes more than the toys inside. In fact research suggests that non-specific playthings stimulate little minds far more than 'do this, do that' toys. And that's probably why Bilibo is collecting awards left, right and centre.

Bilibo

Stack 'em up

This peculiar looking plastic thingamajig is a completely open-ended plaything that stimulates a child's imagination like nothing you've ever seen. Is it a funny hat, a rocking toy, a snow shovel, a water basin, a tunnel, a cradle for teddy, a tortoise shell, a wobbly chair, a mask or a drum? It's all of these things and more. In fact Bilibo is anything kids want it to be. They can even stack 'em and rack 'em.

Bilibo

What you gawpin' at?

The 'nothing but everything' design of Bilibo is based on extensive research into the way pre-school children play and interact with objects. Its soft, curvaceous shape tweaks kids' innate curiosity and encourages them to become active and creative instead of consuming ready-made ideas. We just like wearing ours on our heads and using 'em to flick water at the boss.

Speaking of bigger kids, children will use and interpret this strangely compelling doodah in countless ways depending on their age. The only limit is their imagination.

Bilibo

So many possibilities!

Bilibo

Maybe it's a seat?

Crafted in high density, 100% recyclable polyethylene, Bilibo is virtually indestructible and has been designed for both indoor and outdoor use. We gave a few samples to the kids down at the Firebox crèche and they've been a huge hit. Which is a shame because we'd just discovered Bilibo's make perfect pretend fireman helmets.

visitor avatar Me & Jim sit in it every day.
Maty, Bath - 11th February 2012
visitor avatar Would it be too risky for a 5 year old on laminate floor? For spinning round on?
Janelle, Essex - 5th January 2012
Firebox says: Hi Janelle, It would really depend on the surrounding and circumstances, I would recommended supervising a child whilst paying with this, or laminate floor for that matter!
visitor avatar Please make one for adults!!!!!!
Rosanne, United Kingdom - 16th December 2011
visitor avatar I agree with all of the above and want to add that I would use it as a spinning ab workout chair. The sooner you make them, the sooner I can get fit in my living room!! Thanks Germain.
Germain Drouet, Glasgow - 11th December 2011
visitor avatar You actually NEED to make an adult version of this!!! I'm 16 and I would so buy one!!!
Ed Potter, Hessle - 23rd October 2011
Firebox says: Brilliant idea Ed, we will certainly look into the possibility!
visitor avatar I bought one of these for my 3 year old, he uses it for a hat, a car for his toys, to spin in, as a boat, as a shell and numerous other things. My 2 older children (10 and 12) will quite happily spin in it for hours. Its been used indoors and out, on land and in the paddling pool/bath. Great fun for all aged children.
Pip, Western Isles - 24th September 2011
Firebox says: Great to hear Pip!
visitor avatar I love this, I play on it every day after my work and ... ooh I love the sweets it made me feel like the future was bulletproof. Which is weird it usually makes me feel like a peanut.
Beth, Liverpool - 7th September 2011
Firebox says: Anything we can do to help, Beth.
visitor avatar Could you make an adult size please :) I could spin in it and then dump all my dirty clothes in it :P.
Rozie Powell, United Kingdom - 12th June 2011
visitor avatar OK. So this is the very first online review I've submitted, but I just HAD to put anyones fears to rest (otherwise known as the 'DoIBuyOrDontIDilemma'). I bought one of these (in Red) for my three and a half year old boy for Christmas, and out of all of his (and his siblings) toys, this is his favorite! AND, he's STILL not bored yet. And, being a young, adventurous sort, he would normally break most 'suitable for his age' toys, but there's really no worries here. Better still, his siblings love it too (age range 4-11yrs), and now we are hoping Firebox will get more colors so they can each choose one. Seriously, I had my doubts about buying a lump of plastic, but this product really does do what it says on the tin!!!
Natasha, West Wales - 30th December 2010
visitor avatar I bought one of these for my niece's 2nd birthday! I am not sure what she would make of it. She currently thinks it's a rocker or a seesaw for her toys! I tried to sit in it, but I didn't fit :( you should make an adult one! My boyfriend would love it!
